So, doesn't Visa take a fee - each year - for each Visa credit card you have with them?!?

How much? Perhaps the $60 just pays your first year's Visa fee?

If so & you'd like to save interest & bank / credit union fees, I'd say:

Take ING Direct's $40 (per cost-free Visa debit card), & use your savings for other things.

but no 0 or 2.9% interest for 6-12 months?

    not really competitive is it?

  • Where is the deal here?? If you are going to do a balance transfer find someone that does the interest at a reduced rate for a a fixed period….

      1. no annual fee for first year
      2. if you do balance transfer they give you $60. so if you transfer $1k then you paid off the balance immediately ($60 is credited to PCU Visa Credit Card Account only if the card being transferred is paid out in full and cancelled. ), you are entitle for $60, that is the deal.

        1. Majority of cards waive the annual fee for the first year. My Westpac gold card waives the fee all the time if I spend $xx each year and I get all the gold benefits to boot…

        2. Even by the time of transferring the money you are still going to get sluged interest deducting from the $60. It's not really worth wasting the time to do it especially given others offer better introductory balance transfer offers.

        • Have to agree, no bargain to be had here.

So, what if you LIKE your OLD card?

        This sounds anti-competitive to me.

        "ACCC, where are you?"
(Sung to the tune of "Car 54, where are you?" ;-)

if you do a balance transfer to a card that has 0 or 2.9% for 6 to 12 months you save wayyyyy more than $60 on the avg. transfer

sure if you transfer $500 and pay it off immediately you get $60 but that seems to be 'playing the system' for a measley $60?

"Receive $50 for joining New PCU Members will receive $50 for opening a new PCU Membership and have a regular direct deposit (salary, for example) each month into an account*. " seems like ok deal. but can anyone join or do you have to be in the police force?

thats what I was thinking, I thought you had to have some form of association with the police force to join the PCU

      • +1

Yes, I think you need to be related to someone within the police force.

I think it generally cuts off at wife/husband/family though.
So you cannot claim from a larger extended family, or else everyone could join every credit union.

So if I got pulled over can I show the card to the officer and leave immediately?
