    This can't be real, right?

    • The deal or the item?

      • The item.

It's surprisingly good. Easy to control internet access for wifi connected devices if you have kids.

    • ??

    • Disney is real. Been to Disney land?

It is 66.93$ from TGY ebay with PLACE code
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-CWDH-Circle-with-Disney-Wi-F…

    • Thanks, I felt gutted after I purchased it without the code. Oh well. I think it is more discount with CR or SB and buying from tgg direct.

I've only used these briefly but they seems like a pretty simple to use product for controlling the wifi at home. For $69, that's a solid buy.

  • Shouldn't it just be called Disney Wi-Fi Parental Control

What's the point of calling it Disney Circle and Wifi parent control….

"Disney Rectangular Prism with Rounded Corners and Wi-Fi Parental Control"

Disney bought/partnered with Circle Media who originally developed the idea.

  • Been looking at these, trying to determine if it will work with my Telstra modem

    • Why it shouldn't ? It is connected to the wired LAN right ?

      • It does so I could give it a go

      • Only works with wifi connected devices, not wired lan. It connects to your wifi; when setting it up it feels like you’re setting up a google
        Home.

As a side note this Disney Circle feature comes built into Netgear Nighthawk routers. I was considering buying this but ended up getting the router instead.

    • Yep, can confirm this!

    • +1

The included feature in the Netgear router is not as complete as this device. Eg. This one have the time limit feature, that is not included in the free version of Netgear.
To get the same feature, you have to pay subscription of USD$4.95 per month or USD$49 per year

As a side note this feature(Controlling device usage/Setting up limits etc) exists with most latest ASUS Routers as well (Eg: RT-AC68U /RT-AC88U etc) using the asus app. While it may not have all the features that this disney app has, it is still possible to do most parental control activities with your router software itself. SO please check before buying another product.

  • I checked the iOS app requires in-app purchases, anyone knows a monthly subscription is required ? If that's the case the device may cost more than just one-off price.

    thanks.

I believe that there is an option to track mobile phone which needs subscription. If you only want to monitor your home wifi, there is no fee.

      • Are you sure? I have a Netgear Orbi which comes with this Disney Circle. There seems to be a monthly subscription to use this feature even with the home wifi network - but I do find the app rather confusing.

Also, my 14 year old son was able to hack around Disney Circle within 30 minutes of setting it up (info easily available by Googling)

        • You can get additional functionality with a subscription, but basic tracking is free with this.

  • Would this stop "bad" content on a google home hub display?

    • +1

      Yes

      • So it acts as a content filter as well?

Walt administers these from his cyrogenic chamber.

how often does this call home?

  • As far as I can work out, you're suppose to also pay usd$10 a month subscription to unlock more features.

also completely unable to find any tech specs like is it dual band, whats the speed etc.

    • I have one and can confirm there is no monthly fee in order to access full features
