Ryan’s fruit and veg shop has 5kg bag of potatoes for 15c today. 79c Watermelon is also a good buy (Expired). Limit one per person.

Update: 15 cent 5kg bag of potatoes extended until 6pm Friday.

  Damn - how the hell can anyone be making any money off of 15c for 5kg of potatoes?! That's too stupidly cheap if there can be such a thing - hell, sell them for 50c or $1 for 5kg… that's still stupidly cheap, and at least they'd be making something off of it.

    I'm not sure what SA is like, but in WA there's pretty archaic laws around potato growing and potato quotas etc. Maybe that has something to do with it. They might have to effectively dump stock quickly.

    I always put half a bag in the fridge. Then pull a few out each week as required. Few things smell worse than a rotten spud!
