Not the cheapest it's been, but it appears to be the best price going at the moment when combined with Cashrewards 10% cashback deal until midnight tonight.

Thanks to FireRunner for pointing out that cashback is paid out excluding GST, so final price should come down to $453.64.

Its actually 9.09% CashBack because they don't count GST. i.e $45.36 cashback or $453.64 cost after cashback

    • This is it

Good pickup, I wasn't aware cashback was paid out on the ex GST price.

      Still a decent price though.

    • Should be advertised for what it actually is then, a 9.09% cash back.

  • Less another $20 if you're eligible here, check your emails, some lucky folks got their offer extended to 5 April.

    • I got the original email… how do i know if my offer was extended?

      • +1

Check the expiry in the email, it would either say 4 April or 5 April, if yours says 5 April then you're one of the lucky ones, if not, then you're not. :)

  • Probably better to wait until Prime Day at this stage.

  • Is it still worth getting a PS4 pro now? Saw one on gumtree for $300 including 7 AAA games does it mean people are starting to offload them before the price drop on announcement of PS5?

sounds like a scam to me, never seen one for below $400 unless it's buggered

      • No scam. A real deal. But I decided not to buy it in the end as I have too many consoles too little time to use them.

        • +3

ouch, you might lose your ozbargainer licence over that one :P

      • I seen a nuffie on FB Marketplace selling one for $200 about a year ago. She must have thought it was a regular model. I purchased it hoping for the best, cleaned it out with my DataVac, checked it, was fine. I on-sold it for $370 the week after. Deals are always around for anything secondhand. Just gotta put the time in being online as soon as they're posted.

    • Holding out to see if PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4.

      • Doubtful, given its not been a feature for a long time now

  • Anyone keeping track of the Sony online store (amex deals from approx 3 or 4 weeks ago)??

Be aware that Sony and Microsoft may announce the next-generation gaming console later this year.

    • That might be true. But the new consoles, when they eventually come out, will probably be what, $600+ dollars new?

If you want to play some playstation exclusives right now, I'd say it's still acceptable to buy a current gen. You can always sell it onwards again.

Won't come out before late 2020. That's the earliest case scenario.

        • +1

Saw an article saying even 2021 for the PS5, but yeah 2020 in my opinion
Is this still worth it for a year and a half of gameplay? And if PS5 launches with backwards compatibility this will be never be touched again lol
