I have had multiple badges of Phillips Whitevision, each with a different colour temperature rating on the pack (from 3700K to 4300K). I asked Phillips what's up, and got a vague response that depending on the type of bulb, the colour is more white or less white. That obviously does not explain why, for the same type, I get different values. They all appeared equally white, by the way. Not sure whether "Whitevision Ultra" is any whiter than the normal ones, but I have found the lifespan to be mediocre at best, and nowhere near the 400h+ they rate it at.

I have so far had better luck with Osram Cool Blue Intense, which seem as white and was bright, but are cheaper and appear to last longer.

Pay in GBP, not AUD, using a fee-free card to save a few dollars.

They often go on 25% off.

Rep, pls post a deal here when you're having 25% off.

  • I badly need some bulbs for my 3 identical vans. H4. I'm quite confused wirh so many to choose from.

I'd like a decent white (not blue) light output improvement over the standard. I do mostly city, with some highway driving.

What should I be looking at?

    • Osram cool blue intense is white, despite the name. Blue (>=5000K) is illegal, but anything up to about 4300K is white and Street legal. I've had WhiteVision twice (4100K), Phillips Blue vision ultra (4000K), Narva Intense (4300K?) and now the Osram (4200K). Yeah, my car chews through bulbs and I often drive with my lights on. Osram have been cheapest but longest lifespan. Phillips had shortest lifespan for me.

    • you don't actually see better with all these white or bluish bulbs. these are the ones with that blue tint on them, cutting out the yellow light spectrum. you need yellow light to preserve as much of your night vision as possible.

just get a long-life bulb. your wallet and fellow drivers will thank you for not causing them glare

20% off is not really a deal; i bought some bulbs a few days ago at 25% off

Yeah they constantly have 20% off.

  • I thought you are selling normal led bulb, apparently vehicle only…
