  • Does it tell you whether they are parallel imports?

    • Honestly I'm not sure. From the look of ACA report it doesn't look like.

My experiences with DealsDirect have been anything but pleasant.
Plus if it was on ACA, it's almost certainly going to have a Catch…
    and upvoting your own deal?

      upvoting your own deal?

If you had ever actually posted a deal, you would know that you automatically upvote your own deal, (unless you are a rep).

      But you haven't….

  • Unfortunately, this is not a bargain - it is merely a subscription form.

Considering DealsDirect's current pricing and their motivation to capture naive customers through publicity on sensationalist 'current affair' shows, I don't mean to be nasty but this is for stupid people that believe everything they see.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just an attempt to build their client base to compete against the growing Cotd group.

This deal is probably only good for those who are not true Ozbargainers. Saw the pitch on ACA and their savings of 30% are against the "normal" price at Woolies and Coles. Given that a lot of items are often on sale weekly at up to 50% off at Woolies and Coles, if you plan ahead and pick your timing to purchase, I douby you would save much at all with this. More hype than a true bargain in my opinion.

Exactly, BINGO!! - you win the prize….. A Mediawatch 1 year subscription

      Very well put

    • From the ACA story, I thought I heard them say they will only deliver twice a month, so you'd have to time your purchases from them as well.

I didn't cross-check in minute detail, but some of the Woolies/Coles "RRP" prices used seemed a bit high as well.

  • I guess if the pricing is comparable to Coles/Woolies, then this might be a good offer… however, at present, there is no way of checking that, so it's a neutral from me…..

I have, however, used deals direct a number of times, and always been happy with their service…..

  • Neutral from me too until I can see what they're offering. Like others, I'm sceptical due to the publicity on ACA, but it may be that at least their launch prices are excellent to drum up more business.

I always use DealsDirect, they have the best service and good products. I'm interested in this 'deal', i have signed up and wont hurt to see how it goes (you can always unsubscribe!). They are a HUGE company, so i can imagine it its either going to be a swing, or a miss. Good on them for trying something different though, taking on the 'big chains'

Any segment on ACA or Today Tonight showing consumers how to save money from only one or two suppliers is just a typical advertorial for the companies, in this case Deals Direct.
Personally i will keep on eye on what "bargains" show up, but probably no different to Woollies, Coles, foodworks or Aldi

  • I wonder what aca or today tonight charge these companies for basically an infomercial.
Take that range of impulse at $2.97 the same price for that is at my local chemist.
So screw them and the value they offer and the $ 11 freight charge.
