Good deal; but the factory output RL in NSW (in DFO, Homebush) always has 60% off…still though I will check it out :)
It isnt always 60% off. Just a lot of the time. That said, DFO is not necessarily current season whereas this deal would apply to current season.
Yes, 60% off at DFO, but only go there if you want to buy uniform.
And the DFO actually is not 60% off everything. I have had an argument with them for their false advertising as some things are only about 20% off.

The polos are about $100 each. If you go to DFO, they are $39 each or sometimes 2 for $60.
Make sure you get the custom fit (unless your obese) as they fit the best and are tight in the arms. Personally I get the tail removed, as it just looks untidy unless you tuck it in (which I dont).
But the link provided is only valid at those stores stated. SO DFO doesnt count - which sucks.
Positive for genuine discount. But still massively over priced for what it is, unless all you want is that little man holding a polo stick. I guess that's why they make that gigantic logo, so you think you are getting good value for your money.
These days I buy Blazer shirts and pants when they are on sale at Myer, much better value.
RL makes some pretty good quality stuff, but I am only interested in their black and purple label ramge which are excluded from the deal. So will not bother.

OK, it doesn't actually say that, but men's suits are excluded so…
If I read it correctly it's only Women's Black Label and only at David Jones Stores.
I for one have never seen a decent RLBL or RLPL sale in Australia ever. And these lines do go on sale regularly, for example 50-70 % off sales for RLPL (which I love, the line has great suits, leather and cashmere) in upscale US department stores and the UK happen rather regularly (whereas in oz, the blue label line goes on sale in department stores (not outlets) probably about every 1-2 months… Hehehe
Never even seen black label in Aus. We have such a poor range and ludicrous prices for RL products here.
Yeah, Harrold's, DJ's, and the nicer RL Boutiques pretty much go uncompeted here in Aus, and charge full RRP all year round for most items >RLBL :)
Even custom fit is very baggy. Cost me >$50 to slim up the sides and remove the tail.
Also, the arms are very tight.custom fit is not baggy at all on me? I like a polo shirt to be slimming, tight and short in the arms. And for the love of god, that tail has to goooo!! That is the most annoying thing about RL polos. They feel and look great, until you see that awful tail.
The last time i measured them i think the chest size was the same size as the waist. Its prob becaues i have to size up due to my large shoulders, chest that the waist is above 5" too large.
You must be very skinny then, or you like them skin tight and pulling? I wear 30/31" pants and a small custom fit polo fits me pretty good.
oh no, im a big lad. 6"4 and 84kg. I just like them to fit tight and short. I wear 33/34 pants and a medium custom fit is good for me.
Bah - "excludes Homewares, Fragrance, Eyewear, and Gift Card Purchases". I get excluding gift cards, but excluding Fragrances makes it useless to me. If you're into anything else they do it sounds good though.
Does homewares include the bed sheets? They look lovely, seen them in David Jones but oh so expensive.

Getting the tail cut off sounds like an excellent way to make your genuine Polo look like a fake.

why not just buy a polo that fits better and/or without a "slightly" longer back?Guess it's the same as those buying Nike etc and unstitching any branding on it. Way to stick it to them after parting with your hard earned :p
I think Ralph Lauren made a new polo fit called 'slim' and it doesn't have the tail anymore. haven't seen it in aus, it was on the net.

Australia-wise this is a great deal! However if you're planning to go overseas then you better grab your RL over there :)
Here's a very good example, a blue label RL oxford button up shirt would cost around ~129-149ish here, whereas I could get a marked down RLBL (RL Black Label) and RL PL (RL Purple Label) shirt with rrps of around ~300-400 for the basic cottons for around $150ish AUD overseas. Australia's a rough place for luxury goods :P

I've been, there was plenty of stock (Myer, Melbourne) - 50% off everything.
Got a really nice hoodie 50% off ($200 down to $100).
The sweaters (both v-neck and normal) are $220 in there normally so $110 after the discount. Planning to head there after work with the wife to pickup some more.

I went and couldn't find anything. David Jones chatswood had a pretty crappy range and the staff were getting on my nerves. Didnt want to go into the RL Boutique because the staff are all gay with mightier than thou attitudes. So I came home empty handed. Even with the 50% off, I still think its expensive. In the US it is much cheaper.
