Save from 20% to 44% on Hotel Bookings in May & November (EG Filion Suites Resort in Greece, 5 Nights for $420.51) @ Travala.com

20

As I have previously posted, Travala is a new startup company pushing itself as a Next-gen Online Travel Agency (NOTA). Although only just entering the space, it already has over 567,000 hotels in 210 countries. The website & hotel load is still in Alpha phase, but is already showing some huge savings. They have stated there will be another million properties added soon, so if you are searching and cannot find a specific property, that is why!

They are on average 10-15% cheaper than booking.com in most of my searches, however if you search for hotels within the next 2 months, that is when you can really get some huge savings. Note: Although Travala.com might not be the cheapest for every single hotel (I’m not making that claim), it’s a brand new company where it is cheaper to book through than some of the largest booking sites in the world. This post is specific to a handful of hotels which show genuine savings.

Below are some short term stays in May, as well as a couple in November. Hopefully someone has an upcoming last minute trip in which they can make use of them!

Tip - change to AUD in top right hand corner before searching

You can receive up to a further 10% saving on these prices, but I won't go into that here, as it will simply sound like an advert. If you are interested, you can read up on the SMART program here https://blog.travala.com/smart-discounts-and-loyalty/ and watch the video here - https://youtu.be/VnWYKCj6bgY

You will also receive 2% back on your booking account in the form of their native currency AVA (think Qantas points, spendable on your next hotel booking)

They have a great referral system up and running as well, which should appeal to all OzBargainers. For every person you refer that spends $50 in on a booking, you will receive $20 of their travel credits (AVA) to use on your next booking. Make sure you help your fellow bargain hunters out by using a random referral code so we all prosper.

Full Disclosure: I have used the travala.com website a couple of times without issue, and I am also invested in the companies AVA native currency.

  • How reliable are they? Did I read that refunds will be paid in AVA?

Actually, are the prices in USD?

    • The prices are shown in USD by default, so you just need to select AUD in the top right hand corner

  • Just checked their prices against bookings I have made with Hotels.com, Agoda and Booking.com for my upcoming trip to the UK and Europe and in every case they were much more expensive.Thats 7 hotels in the UK and France.

    • What were the dates out of curiosity mate?

  • -1

No Deal. Booking.com is still cheaper by a good margin.

    • Which hotels in my post above are cheaper on Booking.com for those dates?

  • Dates are from 10th June to 2nd July

    • Yep, the sweet spot seems to be <45 days at this early stage of their adoption. Hopefully those great prices extend to larger dates as more inventory is loaded.
