  • Waiting for the t6 now ;)

  • Are these really worth the almost $500 price tag?

    • +1

They work well and are great if you're too busy (or lazy) to vacuum. Just wish it had a larger dust bin. I have carpets, thick shaggy pile rugs and tile floors. It's not fazed by any of them. It has sometimes gotten stuck by trying to go over the shiny metal legs of my clothes airer, but otherwise it rarely has a problem with anything. Plus, if you have cats it's absolutely hilarious to watch them react to the vacuum.

  • why do they all have wet cleaning… would rather get one cheaper than with this function. They need a bigger dust bins, not the water bins

  • What happens if you have an area half carpeted and half tiled? Does it automatically recognise when to use the mop (tiles) and when not?
    thanks

No, it doesn't. But the mapping functionality is pretty spot on and once it's run once in vacuum only mode, you can then set no-go zones (like rug areas) for when you want to mop, or you can buy the magnetic tape to set up virtual walls that it can't cross and stick that to the underside of the edges of your rug (but then it won't vacuum your rug either until you remove it). It's actually really neat and intuitive - plus it integrates with google home (I can say "ok google, start the vacuum from my office and my little roborock at home will start cleaning).

      • that's great, thanks for the brilliant explanation ;)

  • Is the mob function any useful? I have the first gen so wondering i should bother upgrading (im on floorboards)

    • maybe if you want to upgrade have a look at the newer T6 model just been announced. Apparently, the newer model has a better mop function like adjustable water flow? Although not sure about pricing yet for the new model.

    • Sorry I know you meant mop, but the moB function would be great addition to some future version. Great for after party clean ups….

    • BTW Try this video for insights into Ver1 Vs Ver2

  • Too late for the party. Out of stock at the moment.

  • I know this says "2nd generation" but is there any other model from Xiaomi that is either better or newer than this? Thanks.

    • See @d3sined post up top about the newer T6 model above

  • Can anyone comment how does this compare to Eufy RoboVac 11S as the top pick in this review?

  • +1

Looks like it's back in stock again

  • Do these come covered by the local warranty? Or that only applies to certain shops selling here?

    • +1

Asked the seller same question. 1 year local warranty in Auburn in Sydney.

      Ended up ordering one

      • I did too albeit from the other link suggested in this thread. May end grabbing another if it works as well as the reviews suggest!

  • Anyone know if you can add cleaning solution in the water tank like antibacterial stuff?

Or can you remove the sponge and dunk it in the solution to mix with the water that drops on?

    • I think u can add some solution. Never tho about it!
      Thanks for head up

    • I believe the manual says not to so you may be voiding warranty if you do, but honestly as long as it's not straight up soap that might leave a residue and clog up or anything that can beak down the cloth or filter fibres (ie. any alcohol-based cleaning solutions), I think it <i>should</i> be fairly safe to add it to the tank with the water.

      • Could you just add it to the base sponge so it doesn't go in the tank?

        • The base 'sponge' is really just a padded cloth (you can view it in the official how-to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp_P3JQdgLI). The water is designed to drip through it continuously for 30-50 minutes while it cleans. I think if you put anything on the cloth it would only work for the first few minutes of it mopping and you'd likely get most of the stuff smeared on half your floor only. If you dissolved it into the water in the tank first you'd get a more even dispersal, although I am thinking about liquid disinfectants, not thicker detergents …

          • @kelzvieira: Yeah I was thinking of disinfectants too. Maybe a thin watery type.
