Saturday 18 May is International Museum Day and NFSA is offering free entry to The Dressmaker Costume Exhibition for ages 17 and under, special crafts activities and a rare screening of Wonderstruck on the big screen.

It is still a month away. More museums will hopefully announce free admission by then.

  Is there a charge to get into the actual National Film and Sound Archive itself?

    It used to be free entry but paid parking, I think like $2, but I haven't been there in about a decade, so it may have changed…

    If you're in Canberra there are lots of other free things like the national art gallery and war memorial. I can't remember if the national museum is free, but I think not…

      NMA is free entry but do have paid exhibitions same as the NGA.

      AWM and NLA also have exhibitions but are normally free but sometimes you need to reserve a time.

      Weekend and public holidays parking free within NFSA premises(1 or 2 hrs as I remember)

    General admission is free which lets you VR experience, the theatrette, Arc cinema and some galleries. The exhibitions are ticketed
