  • 9kg cheaper?

    • +1

Yep that’s how it’s listed, I had to double check it when I seen it.

  • +1

I have the 7 kilo one and am quite happy with it. Make sure you register online to get the five years warranty.

  • Are these washing machines comparable to the likes of Fisher & Paykel and Bosch, or are they a class above?

    • +1

Yes they are comparable. Many years ago Arçelik(Arçelik are who own Beko) made machines for Fisher & Paykel. To be honest they probably still do something for F&P today.

      • F&P arcelik machine were from about 2005 through till about 2013 when they were replaced by the haier built units

Afaik nothing from arcelik goes to F&p anymore

    • I can't vouch for the washing machines but I have a Beko tumble dryer. Very good quality and highly recommended. Can't go wrong with the price and the warranty.

  • How does warranty support work for these? Thinking of taking it to holiday home in country.

    • +1

Just like warranty on any other brand of washing machine. In home warranty for anything that is a manufacturing fault.

2 years warranty as standard, just need to register online for the additional 3 years.

  • Was about to buy, but no delivery to my area (near Canberra), and no click and collect. A local Bing Lee has them in stock, but at $699.

    • same

    • To be honest, even at $699 they are a good buy.

I had bad experience with Beko. Bought one around 5 years ago, broke down twice in the first six months. Scheduling repairs weren't so easy either, we had to bring our laundry to the shops for a few weeks because of this. There's no way I would buy this brand again.

    • Bad experiences are hard to get over. Sometimes the scheduling repair issue can be with the repair agent, not Beko themselves.

Beko has only been in Australia for 7 years and has come along way, the Australian market is very cut throat and its hard to compete the LG and Samsung.

I can vouch that I look after NSW/ACT pretty well when it comes to servicing issues.

  • I was planning to buy a BOSCH FL Washing Machine for around $600, when I heard this brand for the first time.
I have known BOSCH, Miele, SMEG, Electrolux, Whirlpool and many more from Europe. But when I read you saying:
'Made in Turkey. Beko is recognized as the number one home appliance brand in the European market.' I checked for Top 10 appliance brands in Europe on Google and I could not find that name anywhere. May be its a No. 1 brand in Turkey?
Most importantly for me, I found the following:
Out of 47 customer reviews on Australia's largest opinion site ProductReview.com.au, it gets only 1.8 out of 5 stars for Beko Appliance Brands. Can you explain?

    • Out of 47 customer reviews on Australia's largest opinion site ProductReview.com.au, it gets only 1.8 out of 5 stars for Beko Appliance Brands. Can you explain?

It's a review site where people voluntarily supply their opinions. Naturally it will generally attract largely negative opinions because people are more likely to complain unprompted vs. praise good service unprompted. I believe the statistic is you will tell about 10 people about a bad experience vs 3 for a good one.

      • That doesn't explain why other brands have 3 or 4 stars though..

    • douglasac10 hit the nail on the head. A lot of complaints I deal with stem from user faults or misuse, customers not reading manuals or know how to use the appliance.

Whilst some customers do have issues with Beko directly, a lot of customers have issues with the repairer who are only sub contractors to Beko.

Every brand, including Miele, Smeg, Bosch etc have issues and faults, not brand is immune from issues.

In fact, Arcelik(Who own Beko) actually make washing machines and fridges for Smeg. You are buying a Beko with an inflated price tag.
