  • not sure if its amazon issue or bank issue but not only did i have the $168.33 taken out there is another charge for $2.66 from Amazon digital Svcs Seattle on my bank transaction history? is it because its coming from amazon US there is another tax?

    • did you check your account is using the correct currency on checkout?

      • Yeab i would of noticed that, i wonder if its something to do with free trial of prime i added or when i linked it to twitch prime for the Nintendo switch online promo

        • Is it a pending charge or a transacted charge?

Also, do you have any subscriptions besides Prime (check link below)? Could also ask via chat and they'd clarify it.

          would of noticed that

          Would have*

    • Most likely a pending charge.

  • i spoke with someone via chat and they were able to somehow figure out it came from amazon prime video….not sure how that happened i didn't even go to the amazon prime video page and i didn't purchase anything, got transferred to amazon prime video CS person who also could not find any subscription or where it came from but is going to reverse the charge somehow.

Did you just sign up for Amazon Prime trial (to get the free postage)? If yes, Amazon did a pre-auth to ensure you didn't enter a dodgy credit card. The pre-auth will disappear in a few days (could be 5-7 days).

i did just sign up for the amazon prime free trial even though i have had free trial on that account before least i thought i had before on amazon.com, did not enter any new CC details i got transfered again to someone who handles weird charges as the prime video person could not trace it back to anything. this person found it was a $1.90 USD amazon.com charge that happened on the 22nd but could not tell me what it was for as they were from amazon AU support. they said either way it would be reversed and put back in my account.

So you did just sign up for Amazon AU Prime. It is most likely just a credit card check pre-auth. Amazon does do pre-auth credit card checks a lot (i.e. if you signed up for AWS free trial, they would do a pre-auth too). You need an Amazon AU Prime membership to get the free postage.

The reason none of the staff can see that charge is because it is a system generated credit check pre-auth.

  • Has anyone used this with an Xbox One X (or Xbox 1) and noticed if there’s any difference in game loading times compared to the inbuilt drive?
