good price, great tv in my opinion. Bought mine from Costco for 1300ish about a year ago, Great picture and not bad sound for a wall mounted tv.
My opinion may be uninformed as we went from a Soniq haha

    • Yeah I went from a Soniq to the NU8000 last week and there isn't even a comparison to be made lol

      • how much did you pay for the NU8000 … 65" ?

        • $1500 delivered. Yeah 65" but good luck finding any stock around now, it seems.

  • This or a Hisense P8?

    • how much P8?

      • $1550

    • +1

      I'd take a P8 but good look finding a 65P8 for $1200 bucks

  • no 3d? or is that old technology?

    • +1

3d is dead, afaik no tv's have it anymore and for good reason it kinda sucked.

      • +1

I wish it were but the 3D Endgame sessions far outweigh the 2D. Does anyone actually like 3D?

        • +5

It's school holidays, maybe dumb kids love it.

      • +1

Not dead, lots of movies in the cinemas coming out with 3d still and plenty of projectors have 3d

It will probably make a revival at some point once 8k or 16k sets have nothing more to offer

    • It's old tech and never really hit the stride like companies hoped. Not sure how well 3D movies still sell comparably but it's just nothing special.

      • this is because there was no real 3D content in the movies and cartoons. If all movies were made like demo 3D videos or one of the first 3D movies I have seen - Disney Fantasia - one they showed in Imax. This is where things were flying right into you, making you duck from those flying objects. Not the sort of 3D movies they were trying to flock in the final years of 3D tvs

        • +1

          Yeah that’s too gimmicky though
Kinda cheap like yoyo in your face 3D

Which distracts you from the narrative instead of helping you immerse in to it.

    • You can get 3D Blu-ray still but the UHD Blu-ray standard has no support for 3D so having to choose between 3D movies or 4K movies with HDR is an easy choice for me.

4K resolution is good for some movies but majority of the time the resolution doesn't matter at all due to sitting distance and it's the HDR that is the game hanger for me personally when it comes to UHD Blu-ray.

The ability for panels to display really bright areas right next to really dark areas without washout or color bleed is amazing and really enhances the cinema feel.

Even watching upscaled footage with the TV doing some "fake HDR" processing trickery can look very good, I watched the first Kill Bill upscaled on my Xbox 1S and it was fantastic.

Specs for the similarly priced appliance central TCL 65 inch x4us are much better and seeing that alongside the Samsungs at Costco the tcl just looked so much better. 3 years warranty isn’t bad too.

I know the Samsungs and hisense get a lot of positives here but the tcl blows them away at the same price point from what I’ve seen in store

First time posting take it easy on me

    I lol'ed.

It says at the bottom of the listing that these are factory 2nd's, might be worth putting that in the title/post

  • Good price. I did get my Samsung NU8000 for $1345 from TGG. From memory on other posts here, they said that the NU8000 was “a lot” better than the NU7100 hence I paid a bit extra…. but I am sure it will be good.

    This deal- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/447190

Also check the comments on the Hisense 65p7 vs the Samsung NU8000 on that post.

I was coming from a 50” LG that was 8 years old so it just looks magnificent on HD channels. Only downside is using Foxtel for SD channels (like free to air) and you can tell the difference on the picture quality.

    But VERY happy with mine….

    • NU8000 is better but good luck finding them anywhere atm, all out of stock

Only place I can find that has stock atm is ApplianceCentral, and even then they only have the 75" and 82" atm

They had a few in Costco Auburn yesterday

        • +1

Do you remember the price and size by any chance?
Most of my local retailers are all out, haven't checked Costco

          • @OCD Completionist: Can't remember price but was in the front as soon as you enter. They had 65inch model. Was 1 on display and 2-3 boxed

        • Would also be curious what Costco has

    • hi mate can I trouble you for the receipt? lol looking at buying one

I had a $100 eBay gift card as well I used.

I also got 10% off but it lists this as a "Voucher" in PayPal.

    2nd hand refurbs.

    • -1

These were brand new but have now sold out, the link now takes you to a refurb.

  • Only 3 HDMI ports, my current Samsung has 4 which are all full and I would like to connect another device… what am I missing, what do other people do in this situation?

    • What do you use them on? PS4 Xbox and what else?

      • Personally I use 5

        • Chromecast
        • PS4
        • Xbox One
        • Switch
        • Soundbar
      • I have one each for - PS4, Fetch TV Box, Apple TV4, Wii U.

    • +1

      i use one of these:
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4K-1080P-3-5-Port-HDMI-HDTV-Auto…

have the 3 consoles plugged in (wii u, xbox one, ps3). whichever console is on will be switched to automatically. only works if you have one console on at a time (which i always do)

      • have you noticed any quality issues?

        • I use the same switch and I personally notice no quality issues.

        • nah, it just switches/passes through the signal. too cheap to alter it in any way

      • The price is right for sure, I'll give it a go.

  • +1

    Any 75inch for sale?

  • ^Yep, back in stock. Just ordered one. Thanks!
