Would recommend these knives to anyone. You wont be let down with them. Super sharp, great quality awesome set.

Plastic handles may give way after a few years of use but for the price you can just buy another set.

Bought 2 more sets as presents. Great knives!!!"

    professionals alike

    Flat out lie.

    • They probably need to cut that bit out.

However I am impressed that they have done statistics on reasons people buy this as a gift. This shows dedication and analysis to their product.

      • The knives aren't sharp enough to cut through.

  • See comments on previous deal before buying.

  • Reviewers got them for $3. I’ll review a set for $3

    • Yep, there's been $3 knife sets on Amazon. Paying any more than that for no name brand, feels wrong

  • I have just purchased the 17 knife set for $38 from this company and would say that the edges of the actual knives are "child safe".
The edges won't cut skin under their own weight, until properly sharpened, (using the included sharpener).
    The points are "pointy" though.
I would suggest paying the extra to get the 17 knife set, but they are NOT professional/chef grade for this price.
    How could they be?
I would recommend getting the "German" forged type blades with proper shanks if you want quality, or something from Global Ikasu.

    • Well actually as a chef myself ill tell you that a cheap chef knife can be had for $15-25 any bread knife will do for basic work and a paring knife is $3-8 for a cheapie. So for less then this you could get the knives you need, but more important is how you sharpen them.

      • I don't have this knowledge but do agree, but my Mum happily has used the sharp peeler for shredding cabbage quite well this morning and likes the pairing knife.
The scissors are an okay quality and the actual perspex holder does keep the set organised and dry.
So I guess ppl can decide for themselves.
Do you sharpen your knives using a proper whetstone?

        • +1

Lol yeh i do, it gets me a better result then a sharpener imo.

I started out with a cheap stone and 50 10cent each knives from local lifeline, sure afew wernt sharpened well but you learn the angle. To flatten i just used sand paper stuck to glass.

Ended up fixing them all up and giving them away now though.

Also im not debating its an ok home set, im saying for commercial knives you could get the basic 3, but i didnt mention that you would need a basic stone from amazon ect (i am using a $25 one atm that does a decent job) and a tapered diamond file for the serated blades if you want to maintain properly. Add to that a cheap mundial steel aka. dickaron for aprox $25 and that $30-40 knife set needs aprox $75 of stuff to sharpen.

At the end of the day what you sharpen with and how well will determine your experience more then any other factor. I still remember cringing at a party when another chef gloated that his fdick chef knife hadnt been sharpened in the 1.5 years since he bought it and he used it to cut on grills and metal benches ect daily… I was like you dont know a sharp knife then 😂😂😂

          • @Seedy seed: Thanks for the information.
            I appreciate it.
I had no idea what to use for the serrated blades.
I also was skeptical over the value of using the included "sharpener"

I know also of some popular "knife specialty" shops that do a good trade in sharpening peoples knives and scissors for them.

            • @marcozmitch: They outsource it 90% the time. The other option for bread knives is to sharpen the back of the cutting edge, but if you do it to much you will have a ham slicer 😂.

The most important bit of sharpening is angle and making sure you sharpen evenly.

  • "low carbon", "shock-absorbing" steel?

3Cr13 is economy chinese stainless steel with low hardness.
