  • I thought i was going to hate this game but ended up really enjoying it. Actually got the platinum trophy, it's not a hard one to get.
Set the voices to Japanese and you're good to go.

  • I have played FF since X.
Is there single player campaign available or is it online only?

    • It's all single player.
Think online is some dlc thing of no importance.

      • +1

Thanks. About to pull the trigger.

        • Did you mean you *haven't * played one since x?

If so, get ff 12 zodiac too.
Gotta get your balthair and Fran on.

          • @iamhurtin: Yeah haven't played since X .

            • @dasher86: Totally different to FFX. TBH I personally was disappointed as vastly different. But for the price give it a go.

    • +1

The main game is single player, and the 'Royal Edition' includes most of the DLC, which focused on different characters, as well as gameplay improvements for the main story (along with new cutscenes). There is an online multiplayer DLC included as well, but its not necessary to play. However, the game as a whole is very different to FFX, no more turn-based combat, it's all real-time action now which makes it feel far different, and simpler to other FF's. I'd say at this price it's worth it as a package, though.

  • Anyone recommend another 2 for 40 game?
    :)

    • +1

A number of the 2 for 40 games are $19 which doesn't make a lot of sense.

      2 for 40
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Artbook Edition $29

Tempting to sell off my OG version for like $5 and grab this

    • Do jb trade games?

      • Yeah they do

        • How did you get the $5 quote? I've been to jb earlier today the guy quoted "a couple of dollars" for my copy of ffxv

          • @issachar: I said sell not trade in!

            • +1

@JMxoxo: Oh lol my bad eyes

              • @issachar: Doubt I’d get much more than a couple dollars secondhand anyway

                • @JMxoxo: Actually i traded my day one edition at JB oxford st nsw yesterday and got quoted $5, then i price matched royal edition with bigw to $20 (bigw is selling it for $20). So yeah, $5 for trading in your original ffxv. Plus i have $10 JB hifi voucher for saving my receipt online, so i paid $5 in total. Good deal IMHO.

@issachar: You just achieved Platinum Ozbargain status!

    • Worth it just for the dlc and updates

  • When first released Sony made a mistake and was selling it for $20 on PSN. I bought it then but never actually played it. Was playing other games and the patches was too big. Every patch is like 20GB to 30GB. There were so many patches released. I still haven't updated my OG version of it. Not sure when I'll play it. Too many games in my library..

  • Holding out for a definitive or complete edition, does this Royal Edition include this year's dlc or only the previous year?

    • New events and dlc not on disc.

    • They've scrapped the DLC plans for this year when the director of the game left end of last year =(

I think only the first dlc of the 4-5 is coming out since they've already started working on it.

  • Is it better to get this if I already have the base game + season pass, or should I just wait for the Royal Pack to go on sale on PSN?
