      EDIT - working now ;)

    • +1

      code is working now

      • Thanks, worked.

    • Had to try a few times. In browser worked in the end.

      • How many times did you try? Its not working for me :( i've tried about 30 times

        • +2

Worked for me on the 31st time

  • Awesome deal, been looking to buy upgrade , thanks OP

  • cheers, bought

  • +2

Blue, Peach & Red also available at this price

  • Awesome price! I can't wait for the Megaboom to be $125ish though!

    • Will be back soon I think. I also hold on for that. Just missed last time

      • +2

That was a pricing error. It was meant to be 30% off but it was coming up closer to 38% off.

JB honoured it to their credit.

        • So basically Myer price now will be the best for very long time

          • @Sonca: I'd imagine so unless you can wait for EOFY sales.

  • Great find OP. The promo code works for the Megaboom as well, just picked one up for $159.20.

  • +2

Get the Megaboom instead. Night and Day.

  • +1

The larger Megaboom 3 is $159.20. Not as good as the recent JB deal, but decent price still.

  • What's so good about these speakers? I've been in the look out, but have no idea about portable speakers.

    • +3

Go for anything JBL, UE speakers typically suck for sound compared to their JBL counterparts

    • +5

I have used these (UE roll, boom 2, boom 3 and Megaboom 3) and have no complaints about any of them. I am no audiophile but have always been very impressed with the quality of the sound from UE units given their size, and I love the fact I don't have to treat them with kid gloves (I routinely leave them in the patio outside) or have to worry about them around the pool.

I also think their play time is excellent given their size, and I love the (admittedly expensive) charging base that is designed for the Boom 3 and Megaboom 3. Not that I need to charge them often, but it appeals to my laziness when I do to just drop them on the base rather than plug the micro-usb cable in (I did say I'm lazy!).

I also love the 'PartyUp' feature which allows any of the 'boom' series (Boom, MegaBoom, Boom 2, Boom 3 and Megaboom 3) to be linked together (supposedly up to 150 speakers, but I can only confirm 5, as that's all I have). The other feature, which I fail to recall the name of, where a friend can 'insert' their songs into the playlist is also excellent in a party situation.

And just in case people are wondering, I receive no benefit from Myer or Logitech for any of the above comments. I am simply a big fan of the series and recommend them to anyone that asks about whether they're 'worth it'.

What do people use these speakers for? Never seem to see a need for it.

    • +2

Outdoors or anywhere there isn't available mains power supply… No leads.
Camping, pool, beach etc. I use mine quite often.

Better not play your shitty music on the train

    • -1

You must not get out much.

      • -1

        Quick to jump to conclusion

        • +1

… like the “conclusion” that irritating others on public transport is what happens when someone gets themselves a portable speaker? 😂

    • +1

Living room/bedroom (no hifi stereo system), beach/pool/camping, holidays
Seen cafes using them too - you can also daisy chain them over bluetooth to have multiple UE speakers in sync

    • Bathroom. They are water proof, so ok to have music going in steamy bathroom/shower. Flip 4.
Kitchen bench, Good to have music going while cooking or having brekky. Charge 3a.
Garage. Music while tinkering around in garage or garden. Charge 3b.

I have the original boom. I usually don't like BOSE, but they just sound way better than any of these I have tried.

  • +2

    Just a thought.

With an extra $50, you can get 2 of this instead of buying 1x UE Megaboom 3!

  • Anyone know if this is water proof?

    • +2

      Yes, it is

Boasting an insane IP67 water and dustproof rating, it can be totally submerged in water for up to 30-minutes.

  • How can the price reduce to $103.20 :O I can only see $159.20

    • Your looking at the Megaboom 3. This is the smaller Boom3

  • +1

All over folks, price has been jacked back up now.

Better deal here - cheaper and sounds way better.
