  Can I replace my existing downlights with these myself or will I need to hire a licensed electrician?

    Depends on how they're wired up. I got mine done recently and the sparky terminated the lights on power plugs in the roof cavity, so I can replace them myself.

    Looks like these come with the AU plug, so they should be ready to go.

    This downlight comes with a plug attached.

    You can replace your existing downlight with these as long as you have the surface socket pre-installed in the ceiling.

    An easy way to find out is to pull the existing downlight down from the ceiling hole and see if there is a plug at the end.
