Mario Maker 2 is also $58. Maybe add that as well :)

    • Mario Maker 2 is also $58.

      That's too violent though…

      Updated, nice find.

Gee physical games are so cheap now

    • Nothing to do with John Carmack not knowing how to make fun games without John Romero?

      • Sure was a big loss. Daikatana was awesome!

Anyhow Amazon have matched so will preorder there.

Anyone know if Aussie Mario maker comes with the stylus?

    • Confirmed at EB, not sure about anywhere else

    • +1

Yes (Available at select retailers for a limited time, while stock lasts. Contact local retailers for details.)

  • Really on the fence about grabbing the pre order or waiting for a digital sale later in the year. Hopefully there’s some pre release reviews, although for Doom Bethesda didn’t allow them.

  • I think you mean Available May 14th

    • It’s the first line of the post. June’s for Mario Maker.

      • Currently says March

Amazon has matched their Rage 2 price again.

  • Should I get Rage 2 for Switch or PS4? Anyone know if the graphic details differ much between the two?

    • A Switch version hasn't been announced yet.

    • If a version is made for Switch there will be a large loss in fidelity like there was for the minor miracle that is Wolfenstein 2 on Switch but probably with even more sacrifices visually.

But then you'll never play PS4 on the bus.

  • Amazon AU have matched Mario Maker 2:

What are people's experience with getting pre-orders on day 1 with Harvey? I've only tried once, with Yoshi's Crafted World recently, and didn't get it to the following Monday.

    • Damn Amazon are on the ball price matching.

      • They could be more proactive and do these prices in the first place. Lately I've just been watching them price match other stores.

The Rage 2 PC key from cdkeys is Region locked to Europe, Middle East and Africa and is not a Steam key (Bethesda.net)

People still preordering games these days..

    • +1

Turns out some people can think for themselves and judge each game on a case to case basic rather than following the circlejerk.

Mario maker 2? You know what you're going to get. No risk.

Rage 2? Bethesda. Single player shooter. Low risk.

And then when it's Amazon you aren't charged until it's shopped, so you can lock in the price and decide later.

      • I was more going along the line of, just pick it up on the day. Do they really run out of stock that often? Unless you wanted some fancy collectors pack with a high quality duffle bag?

        • The prices in some cases can be higher day one than the preorder, and if you’re racing out to get the game day one anyway why not get the extra DLC that you get for putting down a deposit the day before. If you buy online preordering should get you delivery on the ship day too without needing to make a trip.

I don’t think concerns over stock is why people preorder, at least for non collectors editions.

    • I try hard not to. I believe in the principles of never pre-ordering.

But I do sometimes for Ninty first-party games which I know I'll play and invariably enjoy… and I did today for Mario Maker :(

    • Piss off with that reddit shit.

  • I'd say it's pretty much confirmed any copy not purchased on Steam will be a Bethesda key so keep that in mind.

Always hesitant to pay this much for a Single player experience. Usually fork out $60 for Games-as-service types or Games with a multiplayer component for replay value.

Thing is, this game is suppose to be huge, with lots to do. Like Skyrim levels of big - could be a lie. Those games I usually put in about $60 - open world games.

But I'm not certain. I'd hate it to be 30-40 hours for 100% completion. Like my games to have some longevity.

Plus Rage 2's marketing about how this game is like Far Cry 5 in terms of community events and replayability - we know how that turned out.

  • Does any one know if the retail PC edition sold by Harvey Norman/ JB/ EB is Steam key or Bethesda.net key ?
