    • Same deal in Forest Hill. I just bought p30 pro for $699 upfront with the $65 plan.

      • what? $699 in total for p30 pro…?

        • $699 upfront, then $65 per month for 12 months which includes 60GB data

          • @AsxBTFD: that's not a good deal. That's $500 difference from p30.

            • @yummypinacolada: Yeah, that's why I just stick with P30.

            • +1

@yummypinacolada: However I was pretty happy to pay the $500 difference as the normal price of p30 pro is $500 higher than p30. Also I can get the $200 gift card which reduces the final cost to $499

  • anyone got idea about egift card thing? the expiry date? seems like only for 3 stores https://www.huaweipromos.com.au/ …i only able to see myself getting those kogan sims card over 2+ years, otherwise find someone around here help out.

    • Wish gift cards can be used at Woolworths, Dan murphys etc.

      • use multiple times like Kogan-Woolworths until $200 finished? if that the case that's like $200 off+$70 to $120 for the phone calls..it's like around $700(minus prepaid phone plans) for phone outright.

        • yes, Wish gift cards can be used multiple times

  • At jb in perth, salesman not sure about $200 egift card with hawei so no guarantee.

All those who got the p30, how sure of the $200?

Sorry havent got time go through all posts as they closing in 20 minutes and there a line.

    • JB has a link to the egift card claim in the P30 item listing on their website.

      • +1

Jumped on it, cant get phone till tomorrow but got the imei number.

        Will apply tonight, hopefully works.

        • +1

The P30 comes with 2 IMEI numbers. Be sure to use the same IMEI number as in the JB Hifi receipt. (only one IMEI number is written on the receipt). You'll need to upload your receipt for the claim.

          • @AsxBTFD: from the site it says the first imei number but dont mention anything about the what it says on the receipt? im so confused?

            • @7up: yes but unfortunately when I got home I realised that the IMEI on my receipt is the second IMEI. I think using the same IMEI as in the receipt is a stronger "proof of purchase".

    • I am 99% sure. Never say never but I consider this to be pretty much a certainty

  • Bought 3 P30 for whole fam, as such an awesome deal. Asked what price they could do for 3 and got them for $82 upfront each!!! Got lucky as they were competing with another store in signups. I was really surprised the p30 viewable screen seems to be same size s9+!

    • Which store was this ? Would be awesome to get a receipt. Thanks

      • Special is over now. And I think I got lucky as my sale allowed them to beat the competing store. I tried to get a p30 pro on discount too and the lowest they would go was 1400 which was still too much compared to the mobiciti deal

  • Is P30 from this deal locked? or can I use any sim card with it? Thanks.

    • Yes you can use any sim

      • thank you ^^

    PREPARE TO HAVE MINDS BLOWN

purchased plan with the P30 using an Optus prepaid sim in my spare phone that’s unused. Just cancelled the plan for $390 termination fee.
Applied for the Huawei $200 gift card.

Essentially purchased the Huawei P30 for $390

    • +1

      My mind just went BOOOOOOOM!!!!

    • You cancelled the new 12 month P30 plan you just signed up for and they only want $390?

      • When signing up with JB, all you are signing up for, is a BYO phone 12 month sim only plan. It’s not Tesltra who are giving the phone, it’s JB. The early termination fee of that plan with Telstra was only $390. Because that plan is not advertised on the telstra website, you cannot see it. However if you look at their post paid plans critical information Summary. You can very quickly see, the early termination fees of the other plans. For example the $49 plan early termination fee is only $294.

        • a Real Question.. you really think JBHIFI will not try to stop that ? they giving a phone away (well you pay 199) and you cancel the plan , effectively Jb will get no commission on that plan?

I had a look at the contract, and I do agree with you , techically you can cancel that plan and pay 390.00 since it is just a BYO plan you sign up to.

          • @fatz: They can try, but they will have to call the Sheriff if they want their phone back. Besides Huawei is trying to take over the world, if they have to give some phones away to succeed, I’m sure they would

            • @Shawstuff: honesty, I think it was an awesome deal as it is. just doesn't sit right with me to cancel and someone might lose their job over this. After reading the contract and the receipt i got this afternoon (signed for 2 plans) . I agree with you, they wont have a leg to stand on if anyone go and cancel the plan or simply port out to another service.

Who is doing it first :)

              • @fatz: Working in the corporate world I've seen all sorts of crazy things happen. I wouldn't be surprised the fellow who made this marketing campaign is on his/her way to stardom.

        • I would think that the commission from Telstra would probably still be covered out of that cancellation fee, as well as they would still be getting the bonus from Huawei for selling the phones at this special rate. So both companies still make money at the end of the day

    • please explain…

    • +1

Yes, it’s correct. It will show up in your Telstra account

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/39370/68935/9129240d-4…

I might wait to receive the gift card then cancel too.

      • oh crap…65*12=780 and when you get out paid $390…go back to ozbargain method port in and out

      • If I were you, I would cancel it straight away before telstra and JB hifi realize what people are doing and change the early termination contract.

        • wait until you receive $200 gift card? i think already in the contract and telstrta-jbhifi can't do anything…

          • @apokalypsez: Huawei(who gives you the $200 gift card) will not know or care whether you terminate your contract with telstra, but JB hifi will probably know if lots of their telstra customer terminate the contract just after they sign up.

        • They can't change the contract tho… Even if they realise .. Unless I m not reading the contract n missing something.

    • yep..we are in ozbargain and damn amazing if that's true with $390 termination fee

    • Oh my god!! If only I known this.

    • Yep! I had the telstra rep mention this to me while I was on the phone with them (the JB staff put me on the phone to do a phone recording)

If you cancel, its a maximum of $390.

You could do it a week later and pay only $390 (for the phone!) lol

      • seriously, they aware of this? only pay $390 not addition of $65 for each month for rest of contract? that's incredible and congratulation who have purchase the phone…

        • Thats the thing. Like someone else mentioned above, telstra and jb must be getting some kick back from huawei for selling these phones.

The gift card negates the $199 upfront fee, and you pretty much get the phone for $390 if you cancel right away.

Or the phone and the plan for 12 months.

I got two of my friends to sign up yesterday after I did mine. As an ex telstra contractor myself, I havent seen a deal like this in ages.

  • Thanks OP, managed to get one P30.

  • I didn't see this post until I had signed up - Telstra currently have a online deal:-

70 GB (Incl. 40GB bonus) -$69 per month (BYO Large Plan)
But they are giving $10 per month discount (plus the bonus 40GB)

    So effectively becomes $59 -

    Plan includes:-

    Unlimited national talk & text
    International Direct Calls (IDD)
    $10 per month discount
    Bonus Data - 10GB
    Bonus Data - 30GB

Wife was a bit sad that I signed her up to a plan that didn't include international calls as she uses this. So I spoke with the Telstra Chat and they upgraded the plan for no termination charge to this plan.

    Win-Win

    • currently on the live chat and am in the process of receiving the same deal. This is an excellent find. Thank you. :)

EDIT: all done… now to wait 24/48 hours for the plan change to take effect.

      • How much was your first bill?

  • I know this deal expires today but anyone think there might be a chance to sign up first thing Monday morning? I wasn't able to make it happen across the weekend due to other commitments.

    • this deal expires today

    • Monday is holiday so stores are closed. You might want to wait next weekend when new deals come. If history has taught us anything - it's that new deals will be better than current details :)

      • +2

It's only Labour Day if you live in QLd or NT - it's a workday for the rest of the country.

    • Just came back from a store. No deal.

  • +3

Thanks OP, got mine plan down to $49 with 70GB data and unlimited international call over 15 countries. I just love and hate ozbargain.

    • You don't have a reference number you could PM me by any chance? Currently on chat trying to get the same but they require a reference.

    • +1

Got it down to $49 too. But only got the same plan inclusions as the original plan of 60gbs

      • could you please PM me your reference number?

      • could you please PM me your reference number as well thanks!

      • Could you PM your reference no.

      • Adding to the bandwagon, could you please PM some kind of reference?

        • same here can you PM ref.

          thanks

    • Would also appreciate if you could PM me your reference number! Tried live chat yesterday and they refused to give the port in credit.

  • +1

Was also offered the $49 plan (only 60gb but) for 12mths when I asked for the $10 port in discount.

Much better plan, has POM so speed rate limited to 1.5mb, and international calls. Perfect for spare phone / home hot spot.

    Thanks OP

    • What's this?!!

    • could you please PM me your reference number for the deal is possible?

    • Plz PM your reference no if you have..

    • Can you PM your reference number please? Thanks!

    • Can you also PM me the reference number please? Tried to get port in credit for the $59 twice, reps wont budge

  • Jeez that title threw me off hard, been seeing these jb hi fi deals for soo long and this one I didn't really pay attention too, the fact that you also get a $200 gift card that can be used on the huawei handset is insane and then sell it for at least $800, make like $21 profit and have a free telstra plan for 12 months! I would of bought one for my whole family. damn! congrats to the people that cashed in on this.

  • Got this deal at the last moment, started process at 20 minutes to close and got out 5 mins after doors had been shut.

Will try and see if live chat give me the better deal tomorrow.

    • +1

I was successful in getting the $59 plan with 10GB more, international calls, and PoM.

      • I just got the upgrade put through via Telstra chat as well, very pleasant experience - no dramas at all.

Holy crap this turned out to be an amazing deal, basically a free phone with an awesome plan.

  • Missed out.

  • It works out to be $560 for the Unlocked P30 Handset coupled with the $65 Plan spread over 12 months.

$100 Upfront Payment - $200 Gift card (Confirmation received from Huawei) + $65 Plan Cost Per Month for 12 Months - $10 Port in Discount/Month (confirmed through Live Chat)

If the Rep who gave me the $99 discount has had any problems, I feel bad for posting the store name.

Now cursing myself for not getting another one!

    • Not hard to believe. I'm kicking myself now as I was the first in the store and they actually offered me the P30 pro (for $199) which I stupidly corrected them as I wanted to see the none pro version. That's when he franticly checked his system and corrected himself saying it's the none pro. I should have kept quiet and signed up straight away.

      • +2

I'm sure he would have realised as he put it through

    • How do you get $100 discount for the upfront cost?

  • I have signed up yesterday…But phone was not available in that store and they told me to collect this Thursday..I want to get the $10 port in credit through telstra chat. Is it ok to change the plan before getting the phone? Will JB accept it?I didn't pay the upfront cost yet.The $59 telstra plan will be expiring today. Any help on this please…

    • +1

If your new ported in Telstra plan is already active and you have been given the Telstra sim, I can't see why you can't live chat to upgrade….

      • don't they check the status of the plan before delivering the phone?

        • Oh, didn't see that could be a risk too. Perhaps ask nicely due to you needing the phone urgently, for them to 'borrow' the stock from another store…? good luck!

    • +3

I almost had this issue yesterday as I was waiting for my port to happen before the store closed. From what I gathered speaking to the store rep, the "sale" of the phone and the contract you have signed up for are treated independently of one another. As in, I was basically told I could walk out of the store with the sim card as that has been organised with Telstra already, but the phone would have to be picked up and paid for later at the JB hifi.

If you have already signed the 12mth plan contract and it is active, then they should have had a sim for you ready to go - Was that not the case? Once that's sorted you are free to do as you like via Telstra, including request port in credit.

Your sim agreement is basically with Telstra (organised via JB High), but the phone purchase is with JB hifi and has nothing to do with Telstra. Hope that makes sense

      • Thanks for the confirmation mate..i will do the chat now.

  • +2

I can confirm, if you jump on livechat and ask for port in credit, you will get 10 bucks off as well .
got a job tracking no from Telstra already

only thing I can't do is to upgrade to the Sim Only $ 59.00 plan and keep the port in credit.. he reckons it is a new contract and the port in credit will drop off once it is recontracted

can someone confirm how they go about moving over to the $59.00 plan and keep the port in credit

    thx

  • Managed to get 2x P30's with one $100 off the outright cost and got the plans down to $49/month ($69 plan with $20 discount) talking to a telstra rep. Confirmed with no extra ETC fees. Really hope the JB rep at the store I went to doesn't get in trouble, he was super helpful and nice.

    • Hey mate any chance I can grab the job reference number or chat log, Thank you!

    • did you call up telstra support?

      • Didn't grab a ref number, but basically just asked in the telstra chat if I could get a better deal, even after they offered the $59 plan.

    • Was it done yesterday or today ?

  • I got the additional $10 port in discount. Not sure if I should terminate contact as mentioned above & go on the Catch Pre Paid twelve month deal now. Decisions.

    • Was gonna hop on that deal, but the gift cards which purchased from auspost online shop still haven't got any shipping info. Eventually, I gave up upon this endless delay. Also Telstra $49 p/m deal isn't bad after all.

  • +3

Yesterday: "I'll sit this one out, a better deal will come along."

Today: "Argh, why didn't I jump on it…"

    • Yeah that's why I didn't want to miss out on this deal. Ridiculous offer for $55 per month ($10 port in credit), bonus $200 gift card and only a 12 month contract.

    • Got one. Today: why didn't I buy two….

  • +1

I got P30 yesterday. Due to Sunday the porting did not complete. It's complete now (I was given the SIM card) but due to holiday in QLD, I have to go tomorrow to pay and collect the phone. Was told that since the process started within offer period, I will still be eligible for the $199 price.
