in-ears (with the seals) just arent the same. isolation and sound quality are (usually) better, but theres a massive comfort difference
sabbat x12 pro maybe? or fake airpods. there are some very convincing looking copies around. they could sound crap or break easily, but if they arent too terrible and look the same, they might be a pretty good option.
the best part of them is the comfort, so identical looking copies should at least have the same fit
or get the real ones, theyre pretty good. i thought they were kinda dumb at first, but then i ended up using them daily for almost 2 years and would replace them right away if i lost them

She wouldn't even know that there is a gen 1 or gen 2 so am thinking that I'd be better of finding a cheaper Gen 1 set.

Bite the bullet on Gen 2s. The best Gen 1 deals were long ago. I wouldn't trust any Gen 1s online at this point.

The TWS I12 which you can buy from AliExpress are just as good (wired charging), for only about US$20
If you want wireless QI charging, then the TWS I60 are US$30.
