This is good even for a winter special.

Wish they did one of these in WA.
Would get all my non diving buddies to go.

EDIT: For those who cant see it in the fine print… This is a SYDNEY deal.

EDIT: For those who cant see it in the fine print… This is a SYDNEY deal

My point was that if it's in the Title, people won't need to waste their time reading through all that text…

      • domestic airfares are cheap :p

          Accommodation are not. :D

        • If you're any good at diving, you can sleep with da fishes.

Anybody find out who they are with? Like, PADI or SSI or AUSI?

    • strange, no one picked up the phone. 02 8098 7885

  • Someone post an Adelaide equivalent deal please :)

  • I wonder if you could go directly to the club and ask for a cheaper price than this - after all, they wouldn't need to pay commission then.

These are VistaPrint style 'specials'. Constantly on. RRP is total nonsense.

      $134 is a cheap course.

I paid $100 in QLD, but that was an extra on top of the whitsundays.
$400 in WA. Because WA is a ripoff.
Neither included mask/snorkel or books ($50 mask/snorkel if theyre any good that is, and $50 course material).

RRP is nonsense but by $300 or so only. Which still makes this cheap.

  • I wonder if Brian Skerry knows that they are using his copyrighted photograph to advertise this.

  • If only it was in qld

  • Is the whale included?

    This is a good deal.
I already have my Advanced cert and I have bought this for myself and my brother who does not have his advanced cert.

I spoke to the Dive Shop (they answered when I called) and they said that the certification is with some Australian cert that I am not familiar with, but that you can upgrade this to a "PADI Advanced Open Water" cert for an extra $90.

You can also put it towards a different course such as rescue diver, etc.
    But considering you get:
    - 10 tank fills (worth at least $50)
    - 10 guided shore dives (in my opinion worth $200)
    - Mask and snorkel $40
    - Advanced Course $350

This would make an excellent gift.

    • So are we looking at about $220 or so for a PADI certification which allows us to dive anywhere in the world?

Tried calling today but no one seemed to pick up - instant voice mail.

    • To others: There is no point doing a course with anyone other than SSI or PADI.

You will be turned down where your training is not recognised. Dodgy countries & companies excepted. SSI and PADI are recognised worldwide, you'll never be turned down with them.

I don't like the hidden $90 surcharge though.
Also I wasn't convinced about the offer of 10 shore dives when you don't need that many to get your qualification. For my open water and advanced there were only two ocean dives each. And a few dives of poolwork for the open water. Be sure to query them about that one.

      • I don't particularly mind the surcharge considering it's still cheap as chips but I want to know if these guys are legit, because so far I haven't been able to get hold of them at all which is pretty dodgy. They should be catering for the demand after getting the deal from Spreets.

  • Hi guys, Dive Trek have now updated us. They will be setting up their online booking tool today and you should be able to make bookings from tomorrow 4th of June onwards. Sorry about the inconvenience. Regards
