Am I missing something? Thats seems pretty expensive for thoses specs

    • Your brick and mortar pc store has this listed for 1079ish. subjectively was a deal for me :)

I was tossing up between this and a Samsung cj791, which is a va panel 1440p and 100hz. The image in this ips is supposed to better for text related work

yea really find it odd as well that 75hz refresh rate is a deal breaker

      • You need an amd card to reach 75hz. 60hz if you have a Nvidia card

          ?

          • @asa79: It skips frames if you set it to anything above 60Hz on NVidia cards. Last I researched was before NVidia started supporting adaptive sync though, so that might have changed things.

            • @TheContact: It has changed, Pascal and newer cards support it now, if you see a monitor labelled "G-Sync Compatible" it's simply adaptive sync (and nVidia have verified it works). LG slap it on all their new monitors with adaptive sync now so presumably it'll work fine on any of their old ones to, exact same standard and underlying tech.

    • This not really a gaming PC. That 10bit IPS panel is one of the best at this price point and has very precise color, grayscale and gamma.

      It's great for productivity work.

        Could have better AdobeRBG unfortunately.

    • You can get a x34p for $100 more. Definitely not worth it

      • I read somewhere online that the x34 uses the same panel as the 34uc99, $100 more for some cool leds, higher refresh rate and gsync. So it's really subjective on what you want it form I don't plan to game, so i can't justify the extra cost.

Also acer and alienware look like they are made for 12 year olds.

        • Predator X34P and Alienware AW3418DW use the same panel. 34UC99 uses a previous generation from the same family, hence the lower refresh rate.

          • @TheContact: damn son, should i pay that 100 dollars more then to get the x34p

edit: just read some horror stories about the x34p on the internet. super ouch!

i cant seem to find anything about the x34p having a usb-c/thunderbolt 3 port where I can use the monitor as a hub for my peripherals and have it connected to my laptop.

            • @Elanzer: It's really just the refresh rate that changed. If you don't care, I wouldn't. Some people say you notice even in desktop usage though. But that Predator logo..

No Type C in the X34P.

              • @TheContact: "But that Predator logo.." my exact thoughts about the alienware and acers look like they are made for 12 year olds.

I used to game, I'm actually getting rid of my pg278q for the 34uc99

To drive a 3440x1440p monitor at 100hz+, requires alot of power. I heard that even a 2080ti can only achieve 80 frames on ultra settings in the witcher 3

the biggest deal breaker is no type c and therefore can not do power delivery, for easy plug and play
