I've never needed them before so why do I need them now?
What everyday scratches are you talking about?

    Instructions

    1. Spray water both on the glue side of the sticker and your door handle.

    2. Align and squeeze out water on horizon and vertical direction.

    3. Make sure the sticker stays flat and wait for dry-ou before using

    4. Nail it!

    What?

U would find out how much scratches inside your door handles after a while , if you don't really pay that much attention to these spots , then do a detailing and tell us after that

      • U would find out how much scratches inside your door handles after a while

After how long of a while?

I've checked the door handles on both cars (2008 & 2014 models) and I can't see any scratches. When can I expect these everyday scratches to make an appearance and what do they look like? Do you have a photo that shows what these are supposedly meant to prevent?

        • Well, I guess all I can say now is you protected your car vary well. Keep the good job

My door handle is all scratched. I suspect it's caused by the rings my wife wears.

        • I think they are generally a result of long fingernails, so perhaps more of an issue if there is a female driver. They usually buff out very easily with a bit of rag and polish.

          • @Gravy: They dont even have to be long fingernails thats why you see the scratches on most cars. Years of opening doors and the tops of your nails gently touching the paint surface as you go to grip the handle.

    • You not having a need for this product is not a valid reason for a negative vote.

    20c out of the factory…

    • That might be true but can you shipped here for that price ?

  • How about a screen protector for the windscreen?

Been around for quite a while actually - http://clearplex.co.uk/

Just have had trouble in Australia getting them legal to install. Used a lot in eurpoe and the USA.

  • waste of $.

  • may as well cover your whole car then aye

    • +2

A lot of people do. It is known as Paint Protection Film, if you google that you will find a lot of places that install it on cars.

I had the full front end of my car done here http://supremevinyl.com.au/clear.html and dont regret it at all, my paint has no stone chips or scratches.

  • Just clean any fine scratches on the body paint with this:

    Cheaper elsewhere.

    $3.40 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162053535677

    $3.89 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282798073145

Even cheaper from China, although I suspect it's still just a waste of money.

    $1.57 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123296935860

$1.40 from AliExpress as mentioned by altomic.

What's the likelihood of these melting onto the paint after a few really hot sunny days

    • +1

With these cheap versions who knows. I would find a Paint Protection Film installer and either get Suntek, 3M etc installed. A high quality product tested and designed to be removable.

  • This is a cheaper solution.

  • +6

I don't recommend these. I have them and I regret my $1. At first it'll look good, but after some time, dust and dirt will get stuck on the edge of the stickers, making the stickers noticeable and ugly.

  • I know it sounds impossible, but you can alternatively just make sure metal doesn't come in contact with the door when your opening it.

    • +2

Its not the metal. Long finger nails do it as well.

That tin foil hat is a tad too tight on you.

Cheaper elsewhere as linked above. No deal.

  • Also $1.14+GST from a few sellers on Ebay (eg 132427132110) if you don't mind waiting for it to come from overseas.
