Good price for the barrel Dyson. We paid a similar amount (~$360-$380) for the older version when it was on sale.
Strong suction, large bin. Solid vacuum.

Forgot to mention easy to empty & clean (wash) bin / filter.
For those who are comparing it to handhelds:
The most powerful handheld is the latest V11 model which is ~$1000 and has 185 air watts on max mode (probably less than half that on normal mode) which drains the battery in 12 mins (then requires 4.5 hours to charge).
When the Barrel model in this deal is $400, has 250 air watts at all times, and never runs out of battery.
I know it’s apples and oranges but I think there is still a case to be made for the Barrel model.

  • The advantages of these are outweighed by the handhelds now. I don't see a reason to buy one.

    • Power. Way more power

  • Dyson has given up on this corded vacuum and you should to. This has been discontinued.

    • Yeah thanks but no.

This has much more powerful suction than a v11 and also doesnt have a battery that runs out in 10 minutes.

This isn't fashionable, but its a lot more practical for some…..

      And FAR better value.

  • I’ve had one of these for a few years. It works well, but the wheels are held in place by only a very small amount of plastic. I’ve never dropped or mistreated the vacuum but both wheels broke within a fortnight of each other.
Pretty disappointing for a company so focused on design.

    • was there a warranty to cover it or something similar? I just bought one and reading all these comments, I am wondering if I made a mistake… :/ The dyson cordless ones are way out of budget for me so I thought this could be a good compromise in that sense.

      • Dyson are pretty good with Warranty in my experience

  • Warranty on these is 2 years BTW
