  • Would recommend to wait and spend the extra $41 for a V11 Torque Drive, although deal is expired. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457474

  • Are these dysons vacuum worth the money ? Like $800 buckeroos for a stick?

    • +1

imho .. no. ive got a few of them… they dont last past the warranty

    • Yes they are. I use the V6 Absolute and still working perfect to keep the whole house clean

    • I have one. It's good, but not $800 good. Its value for money is not the greatest, but it's performance is beaten only by the V11.

If you're after a stick, get a V6 or V8 for much cheaper. It's good enough. V10 is better, but not $400 better.

Or, for your $800 get a good corded vac, and a cheaper V6 for spot cleans.

      • Guess I'll stick to my corded Miele Vacs then…

        • +1

I use my Miele for most cleaning.

For bed cleaning I use the sticks. It's just easier to get around when you don't have to drag that thing.

Squashy and tight spaces like the carpet on the far side of the bed, or a closet are easier to do when you're not tethered. Areas behind the couch are another example. That's where it's convenient to have a stick.

But for the heavy duty work, the stick's battery life and suction won't compete with a Miele. The suction is actually more than good enough on max, but then you've got 10 minutes to get the job done.

  • If Dyson is selling them for $799 now, other retailers will be very likely to be selling for that price shortly as well. Meaning you should be able to wait for an X% off sale at Myer or eBay or wherever and get it significantly cheaper.

  • wait for dyson to put on ebay to have extra 10% off.

  • +1

Not the lowest by far, it was 599 when I bought it during one of the ebay sale though

I am still bummed out to this day that i missed out.

  • Ask your mates work at auspost. They currently get extra 25% off at Dyson official site until next week, if you use their discount code.

    • The discount code doesn't stackup. I tried.

      • there's a pdf with the detail steps, the Axxxxxxxxxx code works

        • Can you provide the code?

          • @Pureishq: sorry, code is individually provided to auspost employees, I can't provide it

        • You managed to get additional 25% on the discounted price?

          • @wise penny: I did. Bought a hairdryer at 25% off, my dad works in auspost. The code started with AP and some numbers. Check out the full instructions

  • Good price but I’m waiting for the V16.

    • +1

That one's going to cost $2500 at the current rate of price creep.

      • Haha spot on.

  • If I'm after a corded vac are the dyson big ball anygood?

    • It's like the stick but with no battery problems.

      • ok thanks. Is the suction power the same?

        • Yes.

But imo, if you're buying a corded vac and it's a Dyson, you better hope the money you save on bags outweighs the inconvenience of bagless.

          • @lostn: Thanks. I hate cleaning filters and changing bags. If the Dyson lasts 3 -5 years I’m happy and that it sucks properly?

Thinking of the cinetic big ball multifloor for $499. The animal version is $799. Don’t think I want to spend that much.

            • @k3nnis: You don't clean filters, you replace them. You will have to clean filters on a Dyson though.

The bags are very easy to change, and clean. Emptying dust bowl on the other hand, yeah… not clean.

              • @lostn: Ok. So you mean the Dyson cinetic with no bag and no filter is no good?

                • @k3nnis: Bagged vs bagless is a matter of personal preference.

You're asking if it works as good as the stick, which is also bagless. If you're happy with bagless, then yes, it's as good as the stick but corded.

Dyson cinetic has a filter. Every vacuum cleaner has one. This one needs to be washed regularly and dried.

                  • @lostn: ok thanks.

WHen I click on this link it says:The only vacuum with no maintenance and no loss of suction.
No filters to wash or replace.
Engineered to clean all floor types with ease.

                    • @k3nnis: Maybe you're right. Not sure what sorcery they are doing that with, since all air that goes in has to come back out, and without a filter, all that fine bacteria and germs are going to come back out.

                      • @lostn: ok I hope it doesn't come out! haha.
