Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (4G LTE) 6GB RAM / 128GB $639.20 Shipped @ Mi Official Store eBay

310
PSMART20

[EDIT]: Seems the eBay store was linked on the 'official' Mi Australian store website and Xiaomi are selling through a certified distributor called 'Panmi' which is based in Chippendale, Sydney.

According to Techradar, there is an 'official' Xiaomi store on eBay. The store that is selling this item does not have much feedback, but it managed to get on the front page with the 20% sale so although there is some skepticism, I'm assuming it's trustworthy and is the mentioned store in the article.

Not sure if this model is the Global version but the store description says 'Australian Standards certified products with local warranty support'.

If it is really an official store that has local stock and is selling global model, then this is the cheapest I've seen for the Mi Mix 3.

I will pay $60 more for the Mi 9. SD845->SD855

    • Yes i looked at that to, is 703 a good deal on this

      • Geekbuying is selling for around $660

  • B28?

    • Has B28 based on the 'official website' specifications.

    • And it has VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Not much point having 4G as B3 (1,800MHz) or B28 (700MHz) in the land of Oz if you can only use it for data.

  • Is it likely that this phone would be ban like Huawei?

    • -5

unlikely, because Mi is not capable

      • -2

        why I was negged?

    • ha! thats exactly what I've been thinking … not sure why Huwaei is copping all the flack and not these other Chinese brands .. id assume same trade embargo applies to them

      • +11

Huawei was fine until they touched the biggest cake - 5G. This project helps America making billions of dollar.

yeh i get that bit and the political stuff but you'd have to be naive as heck to think govt owned company from china wouldn't use it as a spying platform (or at least the possibility of it)…how likely would it be for China to allow a US govt owned company to roll out telecom infra in their country .. lol
So i get both sides of the "argument" but consumers cop all the crap with lack of support, less competition etc … still thinking about it logically you'd have to say this will affect all Chinese phone manufacturers the same …

@scud70: even iPhones are made in China, so ban iPhones too?
In theory, Chinese Gov can secretly seed these phones because what people said about it.

            • +2

@Jamesx: i guess beats me on the thinking behind it… but i was referring to infrastructure based on those technologies not individual phones… we already get spied on no matter what we do as individuals these days just depends who your ok with from that front ..

          • @scud70: Huawei is private company with Communist party member in it. According to Chinese legislation, any private company that has more than 3 communist party member must have a committee in it. Purpose is to provide code of conduct and guidelines to prevent corruption and bribery. None of these major tech companies in China are state owned. Not blaming people for getting the concept wrong, there isn’t much resources online for people to understand. Besides most people won’t bother.

        • Trump is know for tactics like taking what you want from him off the table and putting what is yours and don't want to be on the table on the table. China doesn't want Huawei on the table, so Trump just put it there, if China wants it off Trump will want something. Next move is up to China in this game of one upmanship.

I don't think the other Chinese phone makers are seen as the same level of threat because they aren't also building the networks.

america doesn’t make much in the way of 5G, they are way behind. the 5G bans are about giving US companies a chance to catch up. and of course the cost if you don’t assemble in china ….

      • It's all political, not logical.

        • Its all about the money.

          FTFY.

      • xiaomi is a small brand globally compared to sales from zte and huawei, zte got a ban, now huawei, it does give non chinese companies a business advantage …zte are still trying to recover and they used to be a top seller in the US.

I have had the 4GB/64GB Mi Max 3 since December. It is a truly awesome phone that I got from Gearbest for $370.

    • -1

So they have Mi Max 3 and Mi Mix 3? That's just ridiculously confusing and somewhat misleading nomenclature by Xiaomi.

      • +2

They target different users and they look quite different.

        Don't get me started on Samsung's naming…

Because Xs and Xr are better. Or A30,A70, S10,S10e,S10+.
        Or pixel 3, 3xl, 3a, 3a xl

        • That’s so true.

    • Different phones though, one is budget and the other is premium.

  • i really want to buy this phone, but will it have the same faith like Huawei

    • +1

      huawei will be unbanned.

Yes this phone has band 28, it is perhaps the most bandwidth complete device release by Xiaomi in 2018. It work on all three networks with 4G but I am in SYD, that doesnt say hellstra band 28 is at my area..
It is my primary drive right now, excellent device all around except that battery wont last two days in my usage (previous mi 5S plus manage two days!), enough for one day however.

the device is heavy and the slider render the protection of the lower chin at risk, I manage to buy a chin that sticks on it so it has protection but looks out of place once slide out.
the shine point is the screen, no notch what so ever. the size is thin and great at hand. Since I dont often use selfies i barely use the slider, I manage to customise the slider sound to light sabre / star trek communicator etc at will with easy file transfer renaming.

highly recommended but I would rather trade off the slider for better battery like the up coming redmi K20.

  • U reckon its TRS eligible?
