    Better off getting a 5g one…

    • +1

5g is a light, I’d prefer something a bit heavier.

        5g is a light

Mine has a little red light.

        • I just red what I wrote - auto-correct has LED us to this point.

With Optus you're lucky if you get 3G…

      • I’m always on Optus 4G, what did I do wrong?

  • +3

With decent reception 4G’s often faster than the NBN at its best.

Can’t really see much justification for the 5G early adopter tax and limited coverage to begin with.

How fast do we really need mobile BB to be right now anyway?

It's not just the speed… Congestion plays a big part.

  • No stock! I get Sorry, temporarily unavailable.
    made by Huawei btw

    Huawei…. LOL

    • No Android updates? No sale!

My brother has one of these.
NBN was being rolled out in his street and a wall in his neighbour's house was butchered with the installation so he didn't want that. Optus's 200GB 4G deal was on offer, and he fancied the Samsung tablet that was included.
So he bought this little one last time it was on special to test it all out, thinking he would buy a 'proper' modem when he committed the 200GB deal.
And he still has it. It gets 45-50mbs download at most points in his house, and never drops out. He even takes it with him when he and the wife go on hols.
That maybe won't be the case for everyone, but it seems to work for him.

Not everyone here has a brother thought…

  • Will this work for any network?

    • +3

Did the research myself from previous posts. It is locked.

Don’t tell anybody that it is made by huawei.

  • This is normal price, i bought it to use with the 200gb offer.

But I dont think it comes with free starter data. Can any one confirm ?

Are you @branners brother?? Were you the one who fancied the Samsung tablet?

  • Can I use this as my only connection at home to connect chromecast, phone, iPad and google home. Main uses are Spotify, Netflix and web browsing.

    • +1

      Yes.

  • Does this support 2300mhz? I want test the signal in my area.

      I was thinking the same!

Found this on the optus website:

      Expandable Memory:
      External Memory (including max capacity)
      MicroSD up to 128GB

      Connectivity:
      WiFi Bands: 802.11 b/g/n

      SIM Card compatibility
      Standard

      Bands:
      3G Network Bands (in MHz) DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS: Band1(2100MHz)/Band5(850MHz)/Band8(900MHz)
      4G Network Bands (Band & MHz) LTE FDD:B1(2100MHz)/B3(1800MHz)/ B7(2600MHz)/B8(900MHz)/B20(800MHz)/B28(700MHz)
      LTE TDD: B38(TDD 2600MHz)/B40(TDD 2400MHz)/B41(TDD 2500MHz)

      • Damn. Can’t see 2300 :(

  • Guess no lan/ethernet port?

Whats the cheapest 4g modem with lan port? Only seen B525, which is around $192

    • Netgear Nighthawk M1

    • @ajopaul most of these little hostless mifis don't have LAN ports but you can team it up by tethering to a mini router like below for around $50 all up.That's what I do with mine.

  • TomGun i believe that LTE TDD: Band 40 is 2300MHz not 2400MHz

  • no stock

  • Is there any way of unlocking these?
