  • Does it support auto exposure during timelapse, so you can shoot sunsets?

    • Nah I've got it and it don't from memory

    • I'm no camera expert so I may be wrong, but that shouldn't be a problem considering you can set the exposure to auto and it has a time lapse mode. There are samples on YouTube.

    • i have done a few sunsets and didn't notice any issues with it.

  • I just bought this $129 paypal rate…but now see that it's available for the a similar price from ebay Australian sellers!… hopefully it turns out to be useful!..hoping the low light recording is ok..

    • Just remember that on eBay a seller can choose any country they like for their 'Item Location' resulting in a lot of overseas sellers pretending to be Aussie sellers. Their profile itself will say their real location.

        EBAY Discount Code 'Pappy' - $109.87+$8.99 = $118.88 shipped..

        • how good is kogan warranty?

i have read some horror stories from this site and some other site

          • @pinkybrain: I have no idea but assuming as good as any budget seller - so far never had to do warranty claims on anything..often on budget items it's pointless anyway!

      • Just cancelled the geekbuying order via chat…signed up for ebay plus free trial and purchased with gimbal with 15% discount… $237…

  • Theres a nice gimbal made for this aswell, also extends the battery to about 6-8 hours

  • waitinf doe Mi 9 6GB/128GB for $399.99

  • Says it's in Chinese only. No English on the camera?

    • English came in on a firmware update last year.

  • nowadays people got phones that can do a decent 4k recording etc..

would people likely need to bring an extra camera with them?

    • +1

Was thinking the same, not like this one does 4k60

    • What do you think action cams are used for? Its to be strapped on a bike or car or to your wrist when you're jumping off a plane…you know situations that put the camera at risk of damage.

I'm sure everyone wants to strap a $1500 phone to get these footage.

      • And why you assuming that everyone has a $1500 phone?

    • I am not taking my phone in the water at the beach. Nor strapping it to an RC car.

        but these cameras aren't waterproof

        • Only just saw this reply. Sure, but a dive case for it is easy and cheap to get.

          • @Duff5000: so where are you using this that is replacing your phone?

Is the video quality better than the latest phones video quality?

            • @pinkybrain:

so where are you using this that is replacing your phone?

Phones can mostly replace a point and shoot digital camera but an action camera is for a rather different set of uses.
I mentioned a couple already; the beach (above and underwater) and strapped to an rc car. Also recently for rollercoasters, time lapse or slow mo. This also stabilises much better than my phone.

Is the video quality better than the latest phones video quality?

I have no idea, i have a redmi note 5pro, it doesn't do 4k to start with or 1080p@100fps. I wouldn't use my phone in the situations above so it wouldn't matter which was better really. Even if you had a phone that can do 4k and 1080p100 it is going to cost far more than this and you are not going to use it underwater ect.

  • What about stabilisation without a gimbal? Seems you need a hero 7 black or the new dji or nothing?

    • Already has EIS but you would need to use a gimbal for 4K stabilisation.
