Whats up with all smart bulbs being ES type?

    • +1

Bc is also on sale for the same price.

    • Being BS?

    • America is the primary market, and they use ES fittings. Now that LED bulbs can accept a wide range of voltages, its simpler to make one unit that is compatible everywhere.

Kmart have the fitting you are looking for - source: I have these bulbs in my house.

    • ES stands for Edison Screw. Now who was it that invented the light globe?

Probably the same technology as these https://www.bunnings.com.au/brilliant-smart-wifi-plug-and-us… but only $19.78 at Bunnings.

      • Brilliant !!!

      • They look identical, do they use the same app?

        • They can both use the Tuya Smart Life app, which is a better option

      • Do you know if the plug and USB can be separately controlled, eg turn off whatever is plugged in but leave the USB port powered on, or is it all or nothing?

        • +1

          Not sure, I'll check tonight

        • +1

It appears the USB port is constantly powered and uncontrolled.

  • Delivery $7.90 !!!

      Warranty?

  • I just tried out an RGB globe, the white is reasonably bright, but very warm (colour). There doesn't seem to be a way to get a cool white. I tried the preset colours and they all seem to be very dim, maybe only a quarter as bright. Can anyone else confirm the colours aren't as bright as the white light, or did I just get a dud? (I think I've been spoilt with the TP-Link bulbs…)

    • The white light is bright on mine as well… it's just the colours that are quite dim in comparison.

      • Thanks. It seems there is a (weak) tri-colour LED for the colour modes and a single (warm) white LED for the white light. Obviously they are mismatched in brightness intensity. This would explain the substantial difference in price with the equivalent TP-Link globe, which has similar light intensities for all colours and separate warm and cool white LEDs for white light tuning, which the Genio can't do. Oh well, it was a pretty cheap experiment.
