    "Excludes pre-orders"

Stop saying sitewide if it's not bloody sitewide.

    • +3 votes

"Includes almost everything except exclusions mentioned below!"

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

      • +4 votes

        "15% off Selected items"

        Sounds fine to me.

Site is too slow to bother.

And it's down for the count.

  •

    Site is really struggling….

  •

    Slow

  • +1 vote

Hey all. We are aware of the site struggling as you can imagine the sheer amount of people jumping onto the same page at the same time from many sources. The site will probably stutter here and there for atleast the start of the sale untill it slows down. Keep trying and you should be able to get through eventually.

Sorry for the inconvenience and we apprecitae your patience. Thanks.

extend the sale if issues continue?

      • +3 votes

    anyone found any bargains?

    •

Trying, prices still don't seem great though.

  •

    It's 2019 and the site can't handle a sale?

    • +1 vote

maybe their still on dial-up, they are a retro site

    • +6 votes

lol i work at retail company and can tell you there are so many ways this can happen… i feel for them specially since its a small operator! so they'd not really have a huge amount of resources they can get info from or get to rectify things when things do go wrong .. hahaha

      •

the blood collection place i went to still used dial. i was horrified to hear the hand shake sound.

        • +2 votes

hahaha im old… id be all nostalgic! then horrified… its be more expensive than if they had a 4g router i bet HAHAHAHA

    •

It doesn't surprise me. A few months ago I went into their physical store and was told we can't do any sales the internet is down.

      • +2 votes

probably cloud based POS and they are at the mercy of NBN or a consumer grade internet for their store due to location and/costs… 450+ stores so i can tell you many many horror stories of NBN (profanity) ups and just general outages … in saying that all they need to do is get a 4g backed router to make sure they are online all the time :)

Trying to checkout, but it keeps on going to bad gateway. She dead.

Edit: I'm done. I didn't really need it anyway.

  •

Been trying for an hour to checkout on some Legion stuff that have been sitting in my cart for a week or so… I better give up

  •

Even when you can get on the prices aren't great anyway.

  •

    Still down, not giving up

    • +9 votes

Considering the prices, I'm not sure it's worth your persistence..

Hope they extend the sale to be a 24hr one since their site obviously can't cope

    •

      same issue here for me

  •

This is ridiculous. I can't even add anything to my trolley?

    •

  •

Wanted to buy something. Never mind………

  •

Site is still broken @ 1:30pm AEST. Pass from me considering exclusions seem to be the majority of the stock.

  •

    award for the website….

the terminator - i'll be back ….when the sale is over

What would you buy from the site if you could? I'm after Arkham Horror at a great price, but shipping kills the deal.

  • +1 vote

Looks like they are testing their site to see how much load their site can handle. All i have got so far is 502 Error!

  •

Well the order got through to my Paypal but no email confirmation… might be out some money

I remember those ads and it gives me the warm fuzzies seeing that it's still at the same location after more than 30 years and still a family-owned independent. Interesting reading here about that. Kinda puts the website outage in perspective.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole & Stick of Truth on PC for $6.76 seems like a good deal for click and collect.
    https://www.gamesmen.com.au/south-park-the-fractured-but-who...

  •

Looked really promising, compared the Switch version of 'The fractured but whole' price to the eb games price and i got excited.

Then came the postage cost so it doesn't work for me.

  • +5 votes

Apparently they have no contingency plan. Zero news on extending the sale period.
Already 2 pm and still can't access the site.

    •

      Extended to 5pm.

    •

      Works on contingency?
      No, money down!

  •

SWEET i have price matched with JB hifi

    • +1 vote

Wait, what? this looks promising. What did you price match?

  •

    Site is still broken.

  • +1 vote

Website, when you can access it, says sale extended to 5pm

  •

@Store Rep of Gamesmen … Can you guys please extend the time as all we are getting is 502 error!

  •
    1. Purchase 15% more gateway…
    2. Extend the sale for 15 days and 15% off to ALL stock and maybe it's worth a bite!
  •

Site is still broken and there's half an hour to go.

    • +2 votes

Sale extended to 5 pm, but having said that, I've been trying to complete the checkout for the last 20mins but always giving bad gateway. Not worth my time anymore.

      •

Definitely better off trying paypal, was trying credit card and it would instantly die, but paypal worked for me even when i got the error after. I just refreshed and eventually got the confirmation email.

        •

Did you get the Gamesmen confirmation email? I got charged through Paypal but nothing on Gamesmen's end yet

          •

@Cooties: yes i did, that one came first before the paypal one.

            •

@musicinbed69: Well looks like I have an email I have to send off then…

Australian Ebay stores are still cheaper/same price (with probably lower or no shipping cost)

  • +2 votes

Eh looked at a few things and prices are much higher than competitors even with 15% off.

  •

fwiw the deals are fractured but whole switch, and paper mario color splash, for $20 each. (thats before 15% off, so I guess $17 each)

  •

Ugh, so many Error 502s! :(

  • +11 votes

Extending the sale by only 2 hours considering your site has consistently been having issues for the entire duration of the sale is quite a poor showing.

Would have thought you would be running the sale again tomorrow at the very least considering there are people who have been consistently attempting to access your site each hour who are still unable to…

  •

Managed to place an order after getting heaps of errors. Paid with PayPal and got confirmation straight after

    •

Gamesmen confirmation or Paypal? I only got Paypal so I'm thinking I might have to chase them up…

      •

Yes gamesmen confirmation email, also got a paypal one straight away

  • +3 votes

its still down and only one hour left. I cant even enter the site not sure why this is getting up voted when no one can buy anything for sale?

  • +3 votes

How the hell can you guys post a sale and not have the required internet bandwidth to cope with this foot traffic to your site. I have been trying for almost 4 bloody hours and it's about to be finished. Really fking piss weak man
