    • Thanks, fixed. I did a lazy and copied from a past deal

  • If I cancel and join again as a new customer, will it work?

      Yes

    • I called them and confirmed it works, going to do now.

They won't price beat renewals and their customer service sucks.

price beat their own renewals? or someone else's?

I had a chat with their customer seervice last month after our house & contents went up about 20%.
By just being polite, asking how they are, etc, I was told that that I was the nicest customer they'd had all day and they'd help me out. After being asked some leading question like "Now you were about change to another company weren't you?", "err yes of course", "Excellent, I can reduce you premium by…" TLDR, instead of going up by 20%, it actually dropped by 15%.

it pays to be nice to people in custoer service, as they know all the tricks.

Someone else's. I asked them to pricebeat my GIO, they refused saying they don't pricebeat renewals.

        • That's strange, best renewals are generally higher. If you do an online quote with GIO, is it similar/cheaper? Get them to price beat that. Although you probably don't want to deal with them now.

I did it online just yesterday, all done on the website and mine wasn’t a renewal but a quote from a competitor which they beat by $20.

EDIT - My renewal from AAMI was $200 higher than the quote I then got online with them giving me a 20% discount which I then price beat at Woolworths.

Best price around, but wait until you try to make a claim. My car was stolen, written off, offender caught by police. After 2 weeks only one contact (initial email confirming claim) I’ve rung them repeatedly. Unfortunately they are closed when I finish work and my half hour lunch is usually spent on hold trying to get through. Got through to them about 4 times. each time told it takes 5 to 10 working days from NOW.
Lots of sympathy from them but no action.

joined woolies car insurance by Hollard once, they make it so hard and difficult when it comes to fix and pay, personally I ask family and friends to stay away.

  • Interesting how different people have different experiences. My Dad had the opposite experience. His car was repaired within 5 days of lodging the claim online. He received a text message within 2hrs stating that the claim had been accepted.

  • I've done more than half a dozen quotes and WW is the dearest by FAR. ~$1100 (with windscreen and roadside assistance) compared to Allianz and Unity (Allianz) around $800. Bottom line - it pays to shop around.

Edit: QBE has come up cheaper again than Unity.
Edit2: Beyond Bank (Allianz) is better than them all due to much higher agreed value

CARX03 code still works for anyone preferring the $100 gift card to the 20,000 WW points.

    • Thanks! I'll check them out… Haven't heard of them before. I've had Bingle and they've been consistently cheap.

  • Thanks!

  • This ended up being cheapest for me, especially with the $100 GC. Thanks OP.

  • Will it work if you just pay for a month of insurance?

    • Could be a month or 60 days but yes along those lines, check t and c
Edit: after 45 days yes you should have points and can cancel

  • Did the promo code just die???
