(update) Coles Early Pregnancy Test Strip (Am I Preg?)

Hi ladies

I am currently 9dpo and bought some coles Early pregnancy test pack. Not sure what does a faint line means? Is the response positive? Or should i get some other brands and do the test?

Photos of the strips

** 14/06 I am 7 weeks Prego. Ultrasound confirmed it Yesterday. Thank you everyone for the comments and support :) **

Should have finished primary school literacy.

    We could ask the bikkies

    • +3

Bikkies are biscuits. I'm actually quite interested to hear anything that biscuits might have to say about this.

      • First I thought you were new hereā€¦ but 2013. Comment does not check out ;-)

        • +1

I think you meant bikies, which only has one K.

          • @pjetson: <sigh> I know.

Do you get aroused when someone says ā€˜should ofā€™?

  • +3

Faintness of the line has nothing to do with accuracy. If you see any line at all, it means it detected the hormones related to pregnancy. A blood test will confirm this.

That said, it really depends how long ago you think you got pregnant. If it was within a few days or a week, there's a chance the pregnancy won't hold. Lots of women get "pregnant" but it does not follow through for many reasons, and they don't even know about it. So it's recommended to test again in a few weeks.

Assuming this isn't a joke post. Go to the doctor.
If it is a joke post. I don't get it.

  • coingrats!!! enjoy it

  • Pregnant for sure!! Thatā€™s a strong line for only 9dpo.

Does anyone know anywhere I can get cheap flights to an overseas country where I wont be forced to pay child support?

  • Congratulations! That is a positive test! Go and see GP ASAP.

  • +1

    Congrats. Or not

  • Depends.

    Are you female?

  • +1

I'd refer to the instructions that came with it over a group of randoms on the internet but hey, it's your life.

  • +24

    "Hi ladies"

All the men on OzBargain respond.

  • +2

Look if you have to ask a bunch of people on the internet if your pregnant instead of putting your big girl pants on and making a doctors appointment for s blood tests you probably shouldn't be having sex let a lone having a baby

  • +4

Take the test to officeworks to pricematch. Maybe they will give you twins.

    • or go to bunnings and they will price beat means NOT PREGNANT!

  • 9 DPO is bit early (assuming you are on 30 day cycle) so wait for couple of more days. and probably test again after missed period. I wish you good luck….

    • What if you were on a 28 day cycle?

  • +4

not to judge, but unsure what's more concerning right now.
You're possibly pregnant or that you were looking Men's Hair Loss Treatment 2 months ago ą² _ą²

    • Lol. I know the confusion here. We share the same account.

      • +1

Congratulations. I thought you might be sharing the same ozbargain account. Now you have someone else to share. Take care.

  • +1

Congratulations… Now please go see your GP.

  • Congrats OP!

Please post more pictures of things you've urinated on recently.

  • It is rare to get a false positive on these tests but it can happen, on three though? With all four of my children the test strip wasn't definitive and it is because sometimes the hormone doesn't show up as well for some women. Treat your body like you are pregnant and wait another week (I know, torture) unless the pregnancy is unwanted then the sooner you see your doctor the better. Good luck.

  • 100% pregnant. my SO got the same fainted line with our 2nd baby when we first did the test

  • You can get false negatives, but there's no false positives

    • Says who? False positives are rare but not unheard of.

      • Science.

        • +1

Did you read the article I've linked to?

  • +3

Hard to tell without an MS Paint diagram of the pregnancy test

  • Where this forum heading? A clinic, A Lawyers office? A place where you ask ā€œasking for a friendā€ LOL!!! Also Am I pregnant.

Next thread: "She says it's my baby, what are my legal rights??"

  • Congratulations!

  • That is definitely positive. Congratulations. Now go see your GP.

  • The two lines mean you've been taking weed and meth.

  • I am here for the comments…………lol

  • As the science of natural remedies teach: Ignore it and it will go away

  • did you find out if its a girl or boy yet?

    • You do realize you won't know the gender of the child well into the 4 month period, right?

      • +1

I don't have time for that!

Want to know now, right now, instantly.

        • oh I guess you get what you pay for with home brand, perhaps a top brand shows the sex of the baby

      • you can find out now from 10 weeks with the Harmony test, but then again, would an Ozbargainer pay $425 for one :O (I did)

    • +3

Pink line = girl, obviously would have been blue if it was a boy.

  • Congratulation . ( extra human in Australia ) lol.

    • Great … more congestion … congestion in roads, schools, hospitals … everywhere!!
      Geee…

      • -2

Ummmmm we are one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world for our size …

        • Imagine not understanding that people don't actually live on most of this island, and that the population isn't spread out over it evenly.

          • +1

            @brendanm:

            Imagine…

That is when, suddenly, there is that realization of Bingo!! that is why there is so much congestion … population concentrates in tiny areas!!

  • ** grabs popcorn **

  • +2

(since all the better jokes are obviously taken already)

An OzBargainer wouldn't spend any money in tests and just wait a few weeks/months to find out.

    • +1

Thats also mebtioned in the T&C literature when you signup Ozbargain :D

  • +1

…how do you get pregnant in the first place…..?

  • There are no false positives with pregnancy tests, only false negatives.

    Congrats you got a freebie/s

    Shiot it's attention to ladies.

    My apologies me lady

  • +2

Dodgy test and condoms both from Coles… might be time to consider changing where you shop

    • if you still got the receipt elegible for refund on condoms, not sure about pregnancy test unless it gets the sex of the child wrong

      • wut

  • Cheap one gave us a false negative. Better brand a week later proved positive.

    Congrats :)

  • so is this a BOGOF deal?

    • B28?

  • +2

Congratulations! Can we name your baby?

    • +2

      Oznold Bargainator,

If you want to save, you have to follow me.

  • OP did you see GP, what is the result?

    • If OP wasn't seeing the GP, this wouldn't have happened.

    • I came back for an update, there isnt any :( Surely she must have gotten a definitive result by now

  • If the strips are left out too long they can create a false result. Just go find a gp who bulk bills and stop wasting money on these rubbish strips. A true oz bargainer would do that

  • +1

My understanding of (all) pregnancy tests is if they are within date, a false positive never happens - only a false negative early on.

It sounds like you may be pregnant, but I am not a doctor and you should see your doctor to confirm/help you make a decision going forward. I hope it all works out the way you want it to :)

Edit: saw the photos and you took 3 tests, all faintly positive - it sounds like you've just found out really early. To give context, my partner found out 2-3 days after having sex/her ovulation period that she was pregnant and she had a test with the doctor and same thing - faint line to which the doctor said "It's very faint, but there's definitely a line there - you're pregnant!"

  • +1

Last year, my wife's pregnancy test strip showed faint lines like yours. She's now 36 weeks pregnant.

  • +1

Take some blood and use a couple drops of serum on the pregnancy test. Positive results (if any) are a bit earlier than urine. Other than that wait until your missed period and go to a GP for a test. For the love of J.H.Christ don't go to the ED (I'm an ED doc).

    • use a couple drops of serum

      sperm serum

    Am I gregnant?

  • +1

    The strip checks for bHCG

    Things which raise bHCG =

Female: Pregnancy, germ cell tumours (choriocarcinoma)
    Male: choriocarcinoma

Your GP can order a serum quantitative bHCG to confirm if your unsure, however urine bHCG tests are 99% accurate.
