  • What's the price in aud for 8 days in Bali data only and then data and voice price?

    • Hi amanda,

It depends on how much data you need.

      1GB 8 Days: $11.30 - 20% = USD $9.04
      3GB 8 Days: $18.50 - 20% = USD $14.80

All our SIMs are data only in that they don't have number. They do offer outbound calling (only) functionality, that will display your home caller ID.

I hope this helps. We'll update the site to show the plans soon.

      Cheers,

For those who are curious, the code "Bradbury" refers to Steven Bradbury who won gold medal in the 2002 Olympics when he was coming dead last and then all of his opponents were involved in a last corner pile-up.

      I love that video.

      1. Finished 3rd in his quarter-final race and only got a place in the semi-final after another racer was disqualified.

      2. In the semi-final he was in last place, but ended up finishing first after everyone else crashed.

      3. At the olympics he was in last place, but ended up finishing first after everyone else crashed.

Luck was on his side 3 times in order to get to that gold.

Luck was definitely an element, but he actually revealed that this was his strategy all along.

He was getting on with age and knew he was no longer as fast as his opponents but spills are an occasional occurrence at this level and intensity, so he would hang back deliberately to not get caught up with any.

        From wiki:

"After consulting his national coach Ann Zhang, Bradbury's strategy from the semi-final onwards was to cruise behind his opponents and hope that they crashed, as he could not match their pace.[15] His reasoning was that risk-taking by the favourites could cause a collision due to a racing incident, and if two or more skaters fell, the remaining three would all get medals, and that as he was slower than his opponents, trying to challenge them directly would only increase his own chances of falling"

        • Luck was definitely an element, but he actually revealed that this was his strategy all along.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Bradbury's strategy from the semi-final onwards was to cruise behind his opponents and hope that they crashed, as he could not match their pace.

If he couldn't keep up then naturally he was going to be left behind them. The only bit of control he had was in him trying to stay on his feet. The rest was completely down to luck.

  • I'm interested in purchasing a voice/text/data SIM for an upcoming trip I have to Thailand.

Can I ask what is the difference between the options for Starter Kit Type:
    -Microchip 'SIM Sticker'
    -eSIM
    -SIM card
    -Data Only

    thanks

    • Hi flexzor,

SIM Card is a normal SIM Card. We recommend for dual SIM phones.

Microchip is a 0.03mm thick 'SIM sticker' that affixes to your home SIM and provides you the ability to switch between your home SIM & travel SIM with our App. It's really convenient because you apply it once and don't have to fiddle around with paperclips

eSIM. Is a new 'virtual SIM' that only works with latest Iphone and Google Pixel phones.

All of your SIMs are 'data only'. See above post.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,

Its often cheaper to buy one when you land.

I was looking at Singapore, their 8 day 3gb is ~$10

Where the local deal at Changi airport is ~$10 7days for 100gb, plus heaps calls & txt and 20min intl calls!

    I'll be taking my seedbox.

    • supabrudda,

Horses for course I guess. I'd be interested what you could do with 100GB in 7 Days!!??

Our value proposition is a re-usable Travel SIM valid in 160+ countries. Not a single use Local SIM.

Our travellers value the convenience of having their SIM from touchdown at reasonable price point.

      All the best

I'd be interested what you could do with 100GB in 7 Days!!??

As I said I'll take my seedbox :-)
But 3gb is bugger-all. My kids would wipe that out in 3 hours. (that's 3hrs of SD netflix)

I'd usually budget for 5-6gb/day. So for a week, that'd cost me about $20/day with yours or ~$140/week. the local one would cost ~10/wk

yep horses for courses, this horse would rather re-invest the $130 in local hay.

  • When you say last minute does this mean you have a limited time to active or use the SIM?

    • +1

      Hi Gaz,

Our SIMs have a year to be actviated, but last forever.

The last minute it is just our pricing. We apply discounts for data purchased in advance.
      Regards,

      CallCloud

      • Hmmm… but isn't every purchase on the internet "last minute" if you use that definition?

        • Hi Gaz,

Not sure if I'm explaining things too well.

Our SIMS (once activated last forever) they are not your typical single use Travel SIM.

Once you have our SIM, you can purchase data plans, (starting now, next month or even next year).

These plans are for a pre defined period (1/3/5/8/15/24 or 30 days)

The pricing brackets we have are:

          Last Minute (Travel <30 days)
          Travel Next Mont (30-89 days)
          Early Bird (90+ days)

The plans are discounted the further you buy in advance, making these Last Minute Plans our most expensive.

This discount is specifically for our Last Minute Plans.

If you are travelling further in advance our plans will still be cheaper, (just not discounted below what they are normally).

I hope this makes a bit more sense!

          Cheers,

          CallCloud

          • @Flexiroam: So does this mean that with the Early Bird (for example) you buy the data plan now but can't use it for at least 90 days?

I think it is also confusing everyone because you don't seem to have pricing or details of what you need to buy on your website.
            When will this be updated?

            • @Gaz1: Hi Gaz,

              Correct!

We appreciate we are doing things a little differently and up until this point have relied on the App for data purchases. It's a catch 22, people don't want a starter kit unless they know what they are paying for data.

If we show only last minute pricing people think we are too expensive. If we show Early Bird people think we are trying to trick them.

That said we are trying to improve the user experience as much as we can, and appreciate the feedback!

I believe we have someone on the vicinity of 5000 plans up already.

              Who said disruption was easy?!

              Cheers!

              CallCloud

          • @Flexiroam: Yes I agree. Work on your website. May be a good product but very confusing website.

If you buy an early bird offer, how does it get activated? Is there a time limit such that the data cannot be activated before a certain date? None of this is made clear on your website.

            • @constipated: Hi constipated,

(It felt pretty weird writing that!)

On our home page you will see the step by step guide.

Typically we encourage customers to purchase a starter kit and download our app (particularly when they have the luxury of time). The App really is quite intuitive.

If you are in this situation, we haven't yet closed off this offer:

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/458248

              Cheers,

              CallCloud

              • @Flexiroam: Sorry but even more confused. I need a sim for USA, leaving in >3 months time.

If I bought this early bird offer https://callcloud.com.au/products/usa-data-plans-early-bird?… , it should come with a SIM card shouldn't it? I don't need a SIM for other countries.

You haven't answered how is it activated. Automatically on insertion of SIM, or does it need to be activated in app or online via website?

                Thanks.

                • @constipated: Hi constipated,

Yes, that link includes a normal 'SIM Card' as inciated in the drop boc at the bottom.

Sorry, it It is activate in App.

                  Cheers,

                  CallCloud

                  • @Flexiroam: Thanks Rep.

Please take note of all these questions as they are all valid questions and indicate what people are not understanding from your website. Perhaps you should have an FAQ on your website to explain all of these issues. Would help greatly.

  • I'm going to the Cook Islands, would this be covered under the Oceania plan or is it strictly Aus/NZ/Fiji/PNG?

Gets a + vote for promptly answering questions!

    • Hi Tycho,

I'm glad we reply quickly, because its bad news and bad news!

Cook Islands is not covered by our Oceania Plan, and we don't even cover them in our Global Plan!

Sorry, about that, I'll see what we can do for future though!

      Thanks,

  • To buy this do i need to buy a starter kit too?

    • +1

      Hi Arnie,

No, the item you have shown includes the starter Kit. You will see the drop down box at the bottom:

      Starter Kit Type:

      Microchip
      eSIM
      SIM Card
      Data Only

In that link, you have chosen a Normal SIM.

      I hope that helps,

  • Hi OP why is the 15 day 3GB Americas data plan not available? I'm going to be in South America (Chile, Peru and Bolivia) for about 21 days - what are my options?

    • Hi harls,

We'll get it up for you as soon as we can.

USD $54.05 less the 25% discount = USD $40.53 (starter Kit included)
Each additional starter kit for $5USD if you want to share data.

      Cheers CallCloud

      • Thanks - I'm actually travelling in December but I assume the last minute travel plans would work as well just at a premium?

Any chance you can extend this offer to early bird plans as well? :)?

        • Hi harls,

For anyone not falling in the last minute category, you are best getting our Starter Kit here:

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/458248

then you can download the Flexiroam X App and surf all the pricing.

They run promos quite regularly and I'd suggest their is a good chance you'll get something . Just make sure you don't mis the 90 days period prior to travel.

          Cheers,

          CallCloud

  • OK, from one of the above messages I found this link showing all the plans:
    https://callcloud.com.au/collections
How do you find this link from the homepage of your website?

    Hi prtg,

You'll have to combine our SOuth AFrica Plan & Global Plan.

I'mm off to the post office. I'll answer properly soon!

    • Thanks, any updates to this?

      • Hi prtg,

South Africa is covered by a Local Data Plan, unfortunately no coverage in the other more exotic African countries at this stage.

You can check for updates to our coverage at:

  • I'm going to the Bali in August. Do I just buy 1 x Micro Sim + Data (Indonesia). And later this year Philippines for 6 days then Japan for 6 Days. Do I just buy 1 x Data only (Philippines) and 1 x Data only (Japan).

    • Yes! You got it!

      Regards,

  • I am a little confused. I have two trips coming up, one to Malaysia and Singapore and one to Europe. If I buy a starter pack now, can I just add on data later for the second trip?

    • +1

Yes, if you know your dates then you can buy the offer that falls in your travel date range

  • do the prices include the starter pack or is that extra?

    • Hi Yo-yo,

Yes, the prices include the starter kit. You can also choose data only in the drop down box ‘Starter Kit Type’

  • Hi rep,

I'll be travelling to China for a week then South Korea for 2nd week.

Can you confirm whether to buy 1 sim then recharge after 8 days?

    • Hi abcd,

Correct. The SIM lasts forever. Just add data plans whenever you need them via the app (or us).

      Regards,

      CallCloud

      • Hi rep,

So do I need to purchase starter kit and then China data plan in addition to this or just China data plan?

        • Hi abcd,

Just make sure you select a starter kit type at the bottom drop box.

Once you’ve added to cart, continue shopping.

You can then add a data plan with starter kit type “data only”

          Regards

          CallCloud

  • Hi Rep,
Do you have any plan for New Caledonia?

    • Hi Bob,

Unfortunately we don't don't cover New Caledonia at this time.

Sounds like a nice place to be headin right about now!

Thanks for the interest, and we'll try to keep adding destination for you all.

      Regards,

  • BRADBURY discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart ( https://imgur.com/FoGjZAd ).

Is the code still valid ?

    • Hi Lydia,

Yes the promo is still valid. The product you have chosen is starter Kit with included credit which isn't covered by the BRADBURY promo.

The good news is, that product is probably even better value, especially when combined with another discount we have running here on OzBargain.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455939

      I hope this helps.

      Regards,

      CallCloud

      • You say it is still valid, but does not apply even with just a Starter kit - please visit https://imgur.com/wFYYxCM.

Seems a bit too complicated at the moment.

        • Hi Lydia,

The BRADBURY discount codes applies specifically to Last Minute Data Plans.

If you only want the starter kit, there is a separate promo we have running listed here on OZBargain we ran, with the code CLICKFRENZY.

I hope this helps, if you need anything else, please let us know.

          Regards,

          CallCloud

  • My sim card arrived in the mail today but there is no information included as to how to add the data I purchased. There is also no contact information for callcloud. Op can you give me a phone number or email for support.

  • Ok, found the phone number on the website and had a long chat with James. He is getting his business going so I think we should support him. He explained everything to me so now I understand how it works and I am keen to try it out on my upcoming trip.
Basically, if you buy through the website using the discount code, he will add the data manually on the date you need it.

  • Hi Op, If I order today (if I can figure out this convoluted system) would my order reach me before Friday next week?

    • Hi Hunter,

It depends where you live? We ship from Melbourne If you hurry, I'll get in today's mail! If you are concerned with the data discount, you can use the CLICKFRENZY discount for $5 SIM?

      Regards,

      CallCloud

      • Hi, I'm in Melbourne, can you help me please, I'm trying to purchase a sim card for use in Indonesia, need it to last at least 7 days, and I need minimum of 10gb. Could you please point me in the right direction.

        • No problem.

We have a 10GB 24 Day Plan that would suit. If you are leaving next Friday you will fall under our Last Minute pricing (but the BRADBURY will you get you 25% of the following:

          https://callcloud.com.au/collections/last-minute-data-plans/…

          I hope this helps

          Regards,

          CallCloud

          • @Flexiroam: Thanks for your help and response, unfortunately, it seems like it's way cheaper even after the 25% off to just buy a sim card over there.

            • @BarginHunter: No worries.

I appreciate OzBargain is not the place to debate the virtues we have other than price!

I would be interested to know your assessment of our Early Bird Pricing Vs a Local Indo SIM:

              https://callcloud.com.au/products/indonesia-data-plans-early…

If you had of known about us 90 day in advance of your travel would you have been tempted?

I'd also add that 10GB is a lot for 7 Days! Not passing judgement there, everyone uses data differently, I'm probably just highlighting we play best in the space of moderate use (shared across many people) and obviously bought in advance.

I appreciate the feedback, the OzBargain feedback is worth its weight in gold!

We wish we we escaping the dreary weather, so enjoy! Hopefully we get you next time!!

              Cheers,

              CallCloud
