  • Combine this with the pro Grinder and milk frother and you're laughing!

    • I have the Smart Grinder Pro and it's great. This has a steam wand so you don't need the frother unless you're lazy (which I am a lot of the time).

Properly textured milk on this machine will blow any frother out the water

        It'll take a while

        • It takes less than time than the frother for better results. About a minute - 6:04 to 7:06 here:

The Breville frother takes 2-7 minutes depending on desired temperature. The frother is for when you're lazy, not if you want to save time or get better results.

          • @dazweeja: I just have the BES870 and it spits and carries on so much I couldn't be bothered. Plus I wanted to do cold drinks and hot chocolates :)

Ah well, hopefully if the Oracle touch comes back from the shop I'll just use that

@kronicmacstigator: With all respect, either your technique is faulty or your machine is. Frothing takes a little practice but it's not that hard if you use the right technique. The woman in the video shows you how to do it. You start with the wand completely submerged and gradually lower and tilt the jug until the tip of the wand is just below the surface of the milk and you have a nice whirlpool effect. If it's spitting, it means you've lowered the jug too much and the wand is above the surface of the milk. I don't see any spitting or carrying on in that video.

If you're sure you're using the right technique, you should get your machine repaired under warranty.

              • @dazweeja: The 870 was a scumtree special. Figured the wand is faulty. No biggie… Already in the process of passing it on for an EM7000

  • Mines going strong at 5 years.
Although I'm considering upgrading soon so almost want it to die to give me an excuse
