    ATH-M40x = $85
    Membership = $25

    If you plan on subscribing now it gives you a 10% discount on first item, bringing it down to $76.5 (and a $10 voucher for next purchase).

    Total = $76.5 + $25 = $101.5

    So, you're better off buying the M40x's from JB for $96.33 today before 9PM.

    But if you're seeing the this tomorrow, welp, $101.5 is as good as it gets.

    In the case of M50x's, it's $150.55 here vs $141.93 at JB today (again, until 9PM).

    • I got membership but didn't check before buying from JB. Out comes the cilice.

      • Ouch. You may wanna go back in time and stop yourself from seeing this post.

    Great prices for some great headphones. I had the ATH-M40x, after trying both. The ATH-M50x just had more bass compared to the M40x. Everything else sounded pretty much the same. I prefer the M40x because the the weaker bass made it more balanced overall, little over powering on the M50x, though that's great if you're into that! Either way, can't go wrong with either pair at this price.

      So, is the more bass the reason M50x are so hyped? Cause there are quite a few Youtubers who worship 'em like they're the second coming of Jesus.

      I've only owned and tried the M40x's so..just curious.

        I have the 50s and they do have more bass.

        But I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos that say they’re not worth the higher price. As one video said, “If they’re meant to be ‘neutral’ why emphasise the bass?”

        I kind of echo that sentiment.

          Fair enough, thanks for clearing that up!

          • @[Deactivated]: But of course if you can listen to them yourself that’s the ultimate test.

            • @[Deactivated]: Shh..don't entice me into buying a pair M50X's too now, haha.

      • Apparently the earlier models (and the original) M50’s sounded more like the M40x’s.
        Then with the product’s popularity within DJ circles they requested more low-end (bass) for monitoring in louder environments, and that’s how the M50’s ended up sounding like they do today.

        • That is actually..quite believable.

    These aren't too bad headphones, but be warned that if you have a large head they are quite tight (serious).

    I've had my M50s for a while now and it's good sound. They are a bit tight on the ears but otherwise ok. The only problem (which I've also had with other headphones) is that after a long time of wearing them, especially in hot weather if you get a bit sweaty, the thin covering over the ear pads starts peeling off which can be annoying.

    • Pleather pads will do that after a couple of years. You can change the pads, you know?

  • Apparently I don't know anyone with a Co-Op membership.
