Can't seem to see any uncharted 2 stuff

  • Op has mixed up the links for 2 and 3.

    • Should be fixed now :)

Why bother with this additional content of they are taking the servers down?

You can still experience it till September 3rd. That's if anyone is playing it.

That's if anyone is playing it.

I tried multiplayer for both U2 and U3 last year and was surprised to see people still playing. Didn't even have to wait more than a few mins to get into a match.

Kudos to them for keeping it going so long, even after remakes were out.

But so many companies don't care enough to do this. They just shut servers down.

If you think about it, it's so weird that a company can just "delete" part of a game, forever, if they decide it's not making them enough profit anymore.

Imagine if Disney announced in 2030 that the last 10 minutes of all their movies older than 2010 would disappear from our DVD and Blu-rays by the end of the year. Nobody could ever watch them again.

There should be a law that if your game has online multiplayer, you have to make the server source code available within 20 years of publish date so that if the community wants to resurrect it they can.

That should allow them to make all the profits, but not destroy an important part of the game forever if fans are willing to save it.

Preaching to the choir man. I've always wanted some legislation for enforce developers to either maintain support for online capabilities, update it to support peer to peer matchmaking or to release the game's server hosting software to the public (or maybe a third party contracted to support it for them). Maybe allow people to buy server time for whenever people wanna play online together. So at least there's always the full experience available.

There's tons of options to make it so pieces of games don't die. They choose not to do this because it makes them more money (gamers moving onto active installments).

    • collectables?

  • The packs unlock >550 individual DLC, do I need to download them all individually?

I love the way they always start these notices with "after xx years" to avoid backlash.
