From the website:

A portable instrument that is simple to use and gives an accurate and reliable result at a reasonable price. It has a variety of applications and is ideal for the budget conscious buyer who is seeking quality and reliability. The EC is certified by Australian Standards.

A vast majority of “personal breath testers” out there in the market use low-cost semi-conductor sensors or the new low grade “Chinese manufactured fuel cells” to check for alcohol in a person’s breath. Alcolizer Technology chooses to exclusively use the highest-grade platinum available for all of their products and police departments around the world prefer the use of proven and reliable alcohol specific fuel cell’s made of high-grade platinum.

The Alcolizer EC uses the same electro-chemical sensor as the Police Model Alcolizer LE and Alcolizer 5 Series, ensuring “Police level accuracy” at a very low cost. Manufactured to the highest QA standard (ISO 9001:2008) and holding Australian Standard AS 3547 Type II, the EC is the smart choice for the personal user.

Please note the EC Australian Standard AS 3547 Certification requires the instrument to be re-calibrated every 6 months.

For added fun, see who in the group can get the highest score the following morning! XD

  • An hour a drink and everything should be fine.

    • An hour a drink and everything should be fine.

That could end up being an expensive should.

    just call an uber

    • Yeah, Uber is definitely great when it's an option. These are probably more useful after an easy night out when you've had a few drinks and want to know when you'll be okay to drive again, or worst case situation, waking up the next morning and want to know if you're now okay to drive after a huge night.

I would rather spend $398 on alcohol and then get an uber !!

    • +1

Yeah, this probably won't be very helpful after consuming $398 worth of alcohol anyway.

      • Depends on what you drink. 400 bucks worth of Moet and Chandon is significantly less than 400 bucks of metho.

  • I am thinking on buying one.

    This product is more accurate: "+/- 0.004 at 0.050 % BAC" vs "±10% (0.010 at 0.10% BAC)"
