  • Very tempting. Any one have one and can comment on the quality /accuracy? Not expecting certified _+1%.

I was about to wait for a deal on Amazon to grab one of these for use on the car. The range 13-203 seems to cover all the nuts and bolts I need from inside the bay to
    the lug nuts.

      do you build F1 racecars?

      • No. But within -+5% will help with my OCD when servicing the car :)

I’ve got one, not this brand but it’s the same.

The adaptors it comes with are very handy and I haven’t had any issues with it to whatever torque settings. Would be nicer if it had a rubber grip rather than the pattern metal but for the price I can’t complain

It makes a click sound when it reaches the specified setting.

Does anyone have any advice on how this compares? - https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-4-piece-1-2-drive-tor…

Been wanting a Torque wrench for a while to just rotate my tyres every 12,000ks.

    Cheers

    • They look identical. Even the case is the same.

      • Yeah the Bunnings one goes to a lower torque spec (30Nm) but the Mechpro has an extra socket (21mm) that I don't need.

Am I blinded by the "savings" with the Mechpro one being $84 originally hmmm

If it’s only for wheel nuts just get the cheapest thing you can find

  • Thanks bought one. Needed one for rotating my wheels.

  • Are there non adjustable torque wrenches?

    • Yes. They have a guage so that you can sight the torque vs stopping at a specific torque.

      • Ok but technically that’s just another way of achieving the same thing - to indicate a particular tension. Even adjustable wrenches you can continue tensioning beyond the ‘stopping point’

    • You mean like an torque gauge?

  • Ordered, thanks for posting OP.

  • Is this better vs the Aldi one that goes on sale once a year?

I've bought the Aldi one and it is fantastic. Aldi one can torque 28-210 and only $30.

You don't need a torque wrench to rotate wheels for many reasons. The standard tool that comes with your car has an arm length that is sufficient for people to tighten wheels with sufficient torque.

    • Agree.

    • Sure but for $30 it’s a peace of mind for novices surely?

      • +1

Maybe, but it won't matter because people don't lubricate before install and once you know what 115Nm feels like you'll realise you'll need a breaker bar (or kick/stand on your wheel wrench) to undo them.

        • Lubricate before install?

@iShibby: If you don't lube your threads (antiseize) you're increasing friction between the surfaces and thread. Your torque reading will be less than if it was properly lubricated and clean (plus the threads will be really hard to take off due to dirt and maybe some corrosion).

            • @AnneFagit: So I should lube the lug nuts every time I put them back after a tyre rotation? Sorry bit of a newb :(

    • I have never in my life used a torque wrench on car wheels…
