Maybe wait for JB HiFi to release their new plans with bonus gift card?

I think the current JB deal of 50GB for $45/month with a $200 gift card is still a better deal than this?
Could probably even hit them up on the chat to move to the $49 for 60GB plan once you signed with JB so you still get the gift card.

      • If we switched from jb to telstra, do we have to pay exit fee or any fee really?

        • It's still a Telstra plan offered by JB. Telstra will always let you go up in cost free of charge, so there shouldn't be an issue going from $45 to $49 but you might have to haggle with them on the chat to do it as their deal includes a port in credit.

          • @whitelie: Thanks mate, $20 credit is port in?
            Then it's a 50 50 then haha

            • @Bargain-er: $10 port in, $10 EOFY "sale" I believe. It's $59 for existing members so if you really needed that extra 10GB and they didn't give it to you for $49, it would be another $14 compared to the JB deal. …but you do end up with a $200 JB gift card to compensate.

      • Hi how to access that JB deal? Do you go to the store?

        • Yes. You have to go to the store for all JB phone plans but this one doesn't seem to be advertised either so you'll likely have to ask for it.

  • Any roaming data?

  • Try your luck with the online chat, for that $10 port in credit.

  • Why is this only in 29 days, current price on Telstra site is $49 for the 60GB plan? See here: https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/sim-only-plans

OR is the OP referring to the current $69/90GB plan becoming $49?

I think OP put the expiry date as the start date. So it should be the other way round, the deal ends in 29 days, not starting in 29 days, 29 days later would be the start of a new Financial year. This is now fixed.

  • Very easy to get an extra 5GB of data by using Telstra Chat.

I did so when I signed up to this plan at the same price a few months back.

Comes with free Telstra outages like now ATM.
Telstra network is best when works.

Also if you have existing Optus service $40 80gb will cost you $36 after 10% off second service. Confirmed.

  • How does the 2gb roaming international data work? I think its still cheaper to buy local sim card or use starhub prepaid.

  • Thanks OP, Optus contract ending on the 2nd of Jul and probably will switch to this. Cheers

  • Telstra seem to be having all sorts of problems with their online order system, I wouldn't trust them to order at the moment. I ordered online and it took them four weeks and multiple phone calls to work out they coudn't provision a service.

  • I was on a chat with Telstra where the rep said that this offer was expiring 24 June 2019. Not sure if other people have heard different but could be worth updating the expiry date.

Was on the $49 p/m 20GB month to month plan for a while (after finishing up my 12 month contract with JB hifi 18 months ago)

Contacted live chat today and asked to be upgraded for being a loyal customer.

    Ended up getting a $10 discount on the $60 p/m 60 GB plan with no lock-in contract…essentially $1 p/m more for 40GB extra.

Pretty happy considering I just don't have the time or effort to port-out and in for the HB Hifi gift cards.
