It's a 3B+
Not much of a bargain. RPi for about $100 or less, so $595 for software and integration. There are open source integrations available for OpenHAB and HomeAssistant which can make the software free for computer minded people.
Other bridges cost only $199 (e.g. http://www.smarthome.com.au/z-wave-automation-bridge.html) though admittedly this is with ZWave instead of CBUS, not that this would cost more.
Yes, you can get bridges at a cheaper price then ours as noted in the link you have provided however simply purchasing a bridge without the required configuration renders it useless. It takes significant time to ensure that our bridge works effectively in the customers CBus home as setups are all customised.
If you have C-Bus in much of your home you've already paid many thousands. If you are looking at Homekit control, you've probably also spent a stack of money on Apple devices. All C-Bus products (including gateways) are expensive because it's proprietary, low volume, and a premium product. It seems reasonable to spend this much on a gateway so you can use your iPad or iPhone as a substitute for a C-Bus touch screen, for example.
Disclosure: I used to work for Clipsal/Schneider Electric on C-Bus related software, but have nothing to do with it now.
