How do you know these are equal? I can't find any info on the DAC used in either.

How do you know these are equal?

I have quite a few cheap ones… Most were around $2-$3… They work great.

      • -2

Almost all modern DACs are equal including two dollar ones.

    • Not the same item.

      • Does the same thing.

        • +1

Sure but they won't produce the same sound quality,Source: My personal experience.

          • @Axelstrife: Sounds better than the PC analogue port.

            • +1

@jv: Irrelevent as we are not talking about onboard audio you claimed it's the same thing as the ugreen one which it is not

              • @Axelstrife:

it's the same thing as the ugreen one which it is not

How do you know the ones I bought aren't better than the ugreen ?

                • +1

@jv: Cause ive used the same generic shitty one you linked above and i currently use the Ugreen one in this listing.

                  • @Axelstrife:

Cause ive used the same generic shitty one you linked above

                    I didn't get that one… It's a different brand. I got mine a lot cheaper.

                    • +1

@jv: So why are you linking something you have no knowledge of and claiming it to be the same when it's a different brand and different performance (sound quality)?

                      • @Axelstrife:

So why are you linking something you have no knowledge of

As an example of how there are much cheaper alternatives.

                        • +2

@jv: Cheaper doesn't equal the same performance, Maybe link the one you own and believe to be a suitable alternative cause that isn't one.

                          • @Axelstrife:

Cheaper doesn't equal the same performance,

                            Neither does paying more

@jv: If you are not going to post a link to the comparable item at a cheaper price that you own and use then please stop replying as this is going no where.

                              • @Axelstrife:

If you are not going to post a link

                                I did

@jv: To an item you do not own or use therefore your statement that it is the same is false.

To an item you do not own

Lots of people post examples of better prices to things they "don't own".

It's purely there to illustrate there are better deals.

                                    • +1

@jv: We have already been through this, the one you linked isn't of the same quality of the ugreen one nor is it one you own or used before so you are unable to claim it does the same thing.

Possibly, but it might even be better

@jv: He already tried them both and said that it's not. Pay attention.

                                            Doubt it…

Anyway, lots of other cheaper options… Doubt they've tried all of them…

As I said, my $2 ones are great.

@jv: Link to the $2 ones then. Otherwise you can't vouch for the things you're linking to.

They were $2-$3 when I bought some a couple of years back… Lots of sellers. Can't imaging they'd have gone up too much.

@jv: You didn't even name which one is yours. How is anyone meant to find the exact one? Got a model number?

                                                  • @lostn:

You didn't even name which one is yours.

That's irrelevant, it could be any ones… They're still cheaper.

                                                    • +1

@jv: But no one can vouch for them, unlike yours.

                                                      • @lostn:

But no one can vouch for them

So? They're still cheaper and possibly better.

If you want to pay 6 times more for one, that 'might' be better, go for it…

Most (all?) of the ugreen ones work with the nintendo switch. So I guess if you're stuck with one of those HDMI monitors that don't do analog audio-out, this could be helpful.

    • -1

Switch doesn't play audio from the USB-C port so I would investigate whether it works from the USB-A.

      I'd guess no.

    • If you're going to use it on the Switch in docked mode, you could just use the headphone jack on the Switch itself. This USB sound card is not an extension cable, so if your headphones need to reach far enough to plug into the dongle, then they can also reach the Switch headphone jack… kind of pointless if you ask me.

Damn just got one of these full price. Worked great to get rid of EMI buzz for my modmic. Went through a bunch of cheapo eBay sound cards that all had horrible interference.

  • About the same price but shipping included:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ugreen-USB-to-3-5mm-External…

    • Although it is not as cheap as aliexpress's, it can be shipped and delivered much more quickly by Amazon from our Amazon AU warehouse.

  • Is UGreen the new Xiaomi? I've been impressed with the quality of some of their accessories like USB C hubs and a USB switcher and they were much cheaper than their competitors for the quality.
