    If you do alot of home automation it's a brilliant device. This is the cheapest price to date.

  Once you buy this you will never have a standard alarm clock again. Can display full screen auto dimming digital clock (ideal for people with poor eyesight like me), its a voice activated alarm, it can read or display your appointments to you while your lying in bed, you can ask it about the weather before you roll out of bed or to play the news, it tells you how much extra time it will take you to get to work based on real time traffic - honestly I can't believe there is so much negative opinion around this device. TLDR: Worlds best alarm clock IMHO.

  EDIT: With smart lighting as mentioned by others it also turns on and off lights in the bedroom without getting out of bed, also allows voice control of my 8 year old TV via chromecast / CEC HDMI port.

    It's also great as a photo frame synced up to Google Pics library. It's good seeing photos I'd otherwise forget I took. Have been really happy with it so far.
