Hi Guys,

I am shopping around for budget laptop, and this one came up.

Intel Core i7-9750H Hexa Core
NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5
15.6" FHD IPS-Grade Edge-to-Edge Matte 60Hz
8GB DDR4 2666MHZ Memory
512GB SATA 3 M.2 SSD
No Hard Drive Selected
Intel 9462 AC Dual Band WIFI/BT
No External Optical Disc Drive Selected
No Operating System Selected
2 Year Metabox Premium Care

It's a Perth Based Company. Don't know if it's good or not, but pretty good price for what you got

I am still considering this VS Lenovo L340

I've got a Metabox laptop, 2 years in running really well.

One thing to that these laptops are really really bulky (like 2 KG onwards with the adapter) but performance wise really good. Also they come with no bloatware since they allow you to install your own Windows OS and gives the required software needed for the parts to work, one of the major reasons I went for Metabox instead of Razor or Asus gaming laptops.

Never contacted support yet, but so far never needed too. But I heard they were good.

Cool, Thanks Mate, I might go for it.

    • Mate from work is using one. He had some issue with a keyboard after some time. Contacted support and they swapped the keyboard within a day. He's pretty happy with it.

Have a Metabox, about 5 years old. Has never missed a beat!!

      too much information haha

How many times you beat a night? Good to hear the laptop survived

  • These guys do great promotions on parts from time to time. Never ended getting one back in the day, as couldn't confirm quality with anyone.

  • What's the battery life like in this one?

    • Found the answer… up to 6 hrs.

      • I really doubt this will last anywhere near 6 hours with a i7-9750H and a 49Whr battery. More like 3 hours doing light jobs/ being idle, if that

Battery life likely poor, but it's going to absolutely run rings around "normal" brand laptops at the price.

Op should be aware that price does not include windows.

      49Wh battery; not good.

      • Will it be worth buying an extra battery for $189?

        • Can you switch batteries without taking the laptop apart?

  • I recently bought a metabox laptop on sale a few months ago, and I have been super happy with it. The cooling is really good, the keyboard is nice, and overall the build quality is outstanding for the price. Well recommended!

  • I bought a metabox about 5ish years ago. Still use it. Battery is dead but new I could play Supreme Commander for nearly 2 hours (CPU intensive strategy game)
It is bulky, but hadn't missed a beat. Definer showing its age though. Recommend the company and their builds.

If power of battery is ok, go for it.

BTW: typo in title, should be Alpha-X NH58RA as per deal link

  • 1,504.00 not sure how you got that price

    • It's the base price. Did you add/upgrade anything?

      • Looks like its because I add Windows 10 home…..what good of a laptop without that? Please don't tell me Linux…You can install Linux within Windows these days…

        • It's because you can get Windows licenses much cheaper.

  • Is edge to edge screen better?

  • No Thunderbolt 3
