Popular little drone, quite a new design. Whether its the 'best' toothpick I'm not sure, but its well made and flies well indoors (have'nt had a chance to take it outside for a proper run yet, but search youtube for heaps of reviews).

Note: This isn't a typical 'toy' drone, best for an adult or mature teenager. Make sure you grab some batteries, I recommend 2S 350mah from BetaFPV. And you'll need a RC Transmitter/Controller (Eg. Taranis Q X7 very popular ), battery charger, and Cheap FPV goggles .

    • Oh, thanks for the reminder, I'll fix now :)

I cannot understand how you guys fly these indoors. They are a screamer & you must live in a barn to be able to fly these inside!

Really, this is bad value IF you're able to solder.

    The Tyro79 is the go-to for sub250g 3inch drones.

Even to spec your own using similar parts (if you can solder) really only comes out at about $120 usually.

If anyone is into fpv and has a build in mind, happy to help :)

I have a few grand invested into this hobby and have built…. Many….

    • The "toothpick" range is different, though, We're not talking sub-250g; we're talking sub-65g AUW. This is essential to legally fly near an airfield, where you need to be below 100g AUW.

      • You're certainly not wrong; and for those people this MIGHT be considered a bargain.

But my argument would be that, if you're buying a pre-built, you probably aren't 'into the hobby' quite enough to be safely flying ANYTHING near an airfield.

In fact, for the sake of the FPV hobby, unless you live on base, I'd say "Just Frucking dont!"

        • Well, I buy pre-built because it's getting to the point that it's cheaper than buying the individual parts myself. Much quicker for me to add a receiver or change out a motor to what I want than build the whole thing from scratch.

  • What is the range on these things? Couldn't see anything on the page.

    • You really don't need more than about 200m, but depending on the protocol, the 'cheapest' transmitter (which is FlySky protocol) can do 2.4kms in open field testing.

That said, with your battery life, you'll need to be landing before 5 minutes anyway.

These are a manual acrobatics\race drone; a hobby, not a 'toy'. (think kmart RC cars, vs Hobby Shop RC cars)
