JB HiFi has Surface Laptop 2, 13.5" i5 8th Gen, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD on sale for $1198, same as Harvey Norman. But I have Amex Microsoft deal saved on my Amex cards, twice. I checked MS online store, it has 15% off RRP of $1499, which is $1274. I went there tried to ask for a price match, so I could bring down the cost to $998 as I could used two times of my Amex Statement credit.

I walked in to the Pitt Street Microsoft store, saw the advertised price on the display table was $1198, same as JB and HN. No need to haggle for a price match, ordered one and split the payment to two Amex cards, $998 for the shinny new laptop.

However, when staff scanned the laptop, it showed up as $1274 same as web store, after I pointed out the price displayed in the store, he was happy to overwrite it.

If you have saved the Amex deal for MS, this deal, spend $500 for $100 cashback, is better price than Harvey Norman Amex deal, which is
spend $350 for $50 cashback. If you save on multiple Amex cards, you can only split the payment in store.

  I really like this thin and light computer, fantastic for taking with you everywhere, but the only thing that kinda holding me back from pulling the trigger is that everything is soldered and casing tightly glued. There is absolutely no way to add more storage , RAM or even swap out the battery when the battery dies, so this is a product that is designed to go to the trashbin and there is no way you can revive it when the battery barely holds a charge. 8GB of ram is absolutely minimum these days since programs like chrome eat ram like hotcakes.
