  • What gives with the store credit? too many restrictions, much better is a discount at time of purchase.

    • They are forced to do this due to Bunnings. If they discount the item people will just go to Bunnings for the price beat.

      • Bunnings get a special range from what i'm told.
They aren't the exact same models. They make little tweaks to it.

    • Well.. usually because the store credits are on other products which they make huge margins.
Off the bat, i can tell you all those brands that can be used for store credit are their own brands that make at least 300-1000% margin. Next time you are in the store, you will see how the store salesman push these brands way more than the big name brands. (they get bigger commission)

Every brand here is their own brand:
Xtorque, Boxo, Bayer, Daytona, Techsmart, Ninja, Torin, Shotgun, Venom, Bluetongue, Raptor, Razor, Eoslift, Chicago, Sola, Chicago Air, Diamond Back, Lincoln, Ferrua, Italco, Gensafe, Bremen, Vaughan, Climbrite, Pinpoint, CPI, AGP, Smith Reels.

      • I didn't actually read the terms i posted, but it used to be like 4 brands you couldn't use the credit for. maybe they have tightened up. it was milwaukee, fein, festoon and something else.

I was able to use my store credit for milwaukee on their trade night and have previously been able to use it on dewalt or makita. i have also used my dewalt roadshow store credit on dewalt.

    • delete me

    • it gets you to spend more in their store instead of saving you money

  • This popped up after expiry and I really hope no one went with the deal. Specifically the Dulwich Hill 429 New Canterbury Road store. Horrible service and that bro/habib attitude. Personal experience was that I purchased about $1000 worth of tools. 1 x drill was bent straight out of the box. (I dont mind a bit of runout but this was flapping like a bird wing) 1 x grinder would bind after max RPM (Later found out it was a used tool that sold for new). Refused to return it and sent me to their "3rd Party" Warranty guy across the road.. which was backyard Dad and Son tool co. Told me to take it back to manufacturer. Which went in circles till I gave up and contacted ACCC.
