"Members must not have earned Qantas Points on a Qantas Points earning card into their Qantas Frequent Flyer account within the past 12 months from offer registration to be eligible."

Kind of kills it for most people I would say

    • Thanks for saving me the click.

    • Hmm, I wonder what that means about transfers from westpac or similar?

      • It's quite self explanatory. If you have earned points from Westpac into Qantas, then you wouldn't be eligible.

    • Does that include woolies rewards..?

    • Registered for this anyway. Got 40K points from the Sunrise promotion for various cards I'd signed up for prior to the start date of that offer. Can't hurt to register for this and then forget it. Might get a nice surprise later.

Wow. This will probably lock me in for the Premier Platnium, providing I don't get refused.

Does it combine with this deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467549

    • I was thinking the same thing.. If so, you could start off with 30K in point in your acc with no annual fees card.

But why waste your 18 month exclusion on a measly 10k points sign on bonus…

Qantas Ultimate Amex card essentially fee free providing you can use offsetting travel credit.

How about if you make multiple qff accounts, then combine points? Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can comment.

  • no citibank.. :(

  • Perfect for me! My Virgin card is hitting the 3 month mark and there's no other decent Velocity cards, so I'm starting Qantas.

So just sign up to a Qantas card, and basically in going to get 20k free points?

    • also consider the Qantas ultimate card, lots more bonus points. $450 fee which is offset by $450 Amex travel credit for spend on Qantas.

  • Which bank is most lenient with CCs? I know Citibank is the toughest.

  • God dammit, I literally just signed up 3 weeks ago - no bonus 20k for me :(

  • Received my bonus 20k a day after QF points transferred from Amex (which will also have its own bonus points once I hit the min. spend) :)

    • In the condition:
"c) make an eligible purchase on their new card within 30 days of receiving it"
What is an eligible purchase? I guess this is anything that you buy/purchase with the card?

      • Yep, pretty much anything that earns points. And the points must be deposited into the QFF account (automatically, once a month) before some date down the line to "trigger" the offer.

        • Sweet, thanks! I just got my AMEX Qantas Ultimate card, will buy something off it! :)

    • How long did it take for Qantas to credit the points after your Amex points were posted?

      • A day as per my post lol

        • Ah crap, feel stupid now thanks mate

  • Got mine, awesome

    • How long did it take for Qantas to credit the points ?

      • I got mine on 22nd July

        • Been a week today but nothing. Was a new ff account that I hadn't used and they emailed the offer that I signed up with amex ultimate.

          • @marji: did you ever get this resolved? I've not had mine credited either; asked Qantas and they're saying it's down to the card vendor - despite it being a Qantas promotion
