I would not trust to buy from MWave or Ebay to help, if there was a problem

I just bought a "Helios Hard Gaming Mouse Mat - Extra Large", mouse pad from MWave, via Ebay (Ebay Plus).

The product arrived, I opened it. The item listed as brand new, was used.

I emailed MWave straight away. Having not recieved any email of acknowledgement from the seller, I
contacted Ebay the next evening.

As it was USED, and not new as per Ebay Listing, I refused to go to the post office and post it back. If it
had been a faulty product, I wouldnt blame the seller, and would have been happy enough to
go to the post office to return it to them,.

The options I provided, were sent to MWave by Ebay as under:
* To have a replacement mouse pad be sent to you and for you to hand the original item back to the courier for it to be sent back to them
* If a replacement is not possible, still have a courier pick up the item for a full refund
* If they can't arrange a courier, then they may full refund you and you'll dispose of the item

I did not receive any acknowledgment from MWave, so next evening, I called Ebay again. They were going to call the
account manager at MWave, to look into it.

Today I received an email from MWave as under:

New message from: mwaveau (18,477YellowShooting Star)
Hi XXXX,

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please return the product to:

Ref: Job / RA Number XXXX
REPLY PAID XXXXX
MWAVE
UNIT F3, 3 - 29 Birnie Avenue
LIDCOMBE

NSW 2141

We will attempt to process the RA for you as quickly as possible once the product is returned.

Please click on this link to read our RA terms and conditions: https://www.mwave.com.au/terms-and-conditions

(This Return Authority (RA) is only valid for seven (7) days from the date of issue).

So, they take 4 days to reply (after intervention from Ebay), then they expect me to go to the post office, then
they say they will "attempt to process the RA as soon as possible"
But I only have 7 days to return it. lololol

So I called Ebay, the lady online, without reading the earlier notes & email tells me. "It looks like you do not want to return the product".

So the supervisor comes online. He tells me I have to go to the post office to post it.

So I tell him, I will throw away the product, and They can keep the $35 too.

I wish there was a way for me to post those pics, so you could see how even a blind man could not miss the fact that it was used, before they sent it to me.

Mwave have been fine when I've dealt with them for returns and purchases etc, they've offered a solution. It is quite possible a return had somehow made it back into stock, the packer might not necessarily have noticed given how quickly some packers have to process orders.

EOFY period, I've waited for well and truly longer than that to receive a response from other retailers from online / ebay queries

Looks like you're not getting what you want and instead throw a tantrum when a perfectly suitable response has been provided.

So you were deceived and lied to, and now they want you to go around and post it back, so that they can try this stunt on someone else? Yeah stuff that.

  • I had an incident few years back where I bought DVD player, and received a used one. Wear tear was so bad that it was obvious a used product.

    • Years ago i bought a dvd.

      • What's a DVD?

        • Its a type of frisbee, but disappointingly no where near as good as it's previous model the "5.25 inch floppy disk".

  • Pics or it didn't happen. i want to see the mouse-pad to make sure it is not new. Just make an imgur album or something and post the link to that. It's not that hard.

    • Op won't even go to the post office for $35,so making an album for $0 might be too much effort

  • Entitled much?

  • I brought diskstation for warranty claim, they will only refund me after they do checking even though Synology already acknowledged it was faulty and to bring it to mwave for a refund.

I gave my card number for refund. Took 3 months until I get my money back. They kept giving me excuse (wrong card details) then I emailed them my bank details (they said the accounts recorded the wrong details and so on)

  • wtf is wrong with this OP, just post it back and get it refunded. Regardless Mwave did stuff OP around, for one thing I hate to buy a second hand when it advertise as NEW.

  • Is this for real?

    This guy is really unreasonable.
He bought the product and did not like it. Now refusing to go to Post Office to return it?

What if you have purchased something from officeworks and when you came home, you realized something wrong with the item. What would you do? Ask the Officeworks to come to your home to fix the product?

Simple return the product by going to Australia Post and get you money back. You can not expect to get your money back without returning the product anyway.

    • No you throw it in the bin and don't get your money back because you have to much money

  • +1

Great attitude, do you want the manager to personally come and collect it from you and replace it at your house? Can you imagine the world if everyone behaved like you are now?

  • +3

Why didnt you just ask for the first option?

Because they mentioned money back nd keep it. You are a scumbag plain and simple, that is why you pushed to keep it and the money. Now you come here expecting us to what? Pat you on the back?

Business is hard in aus, but its harder with you. I look forward to mwave not raising prices to cover your nastyness.

do you expect someone to come pick up your momuspad? what if you spent the time going to the post office than posting your question on ozbargains.

  • -1

A few things to note, 1 you paid $35 for a mousepad????, 2 it doesn't really matter if it's used just wipe it down, 3 you are wasting all this time over something so little.

I bought a second hand phone was 6 months old, the seller sent me the phone without including the earphones nor the fast charger rather a regular charger instead. I didn't lose any sleep over it nor even bother contacting him about it. Be satisfied with what you got.

I get it. It's annoying. The same thing happened with an Amazon purchase recently, that was obviously used. I was annoyed to go out of my way to drop it off, but I did it anyway.

  • OP, I wish I had as much energy to waste on things like this. I say just get over it and post it back.

Ultimately, only you can make yourself unhappy. And getting unhappy over something like this? Life is too short for this.

  • So solution, send it back wait for a new one. You won't die from not having a mousepad.

  • +2

You've been here since 2007 so that makes you at least 12 years old. Scary stuff.

  • One of the things I find funny with things like this when people line up to bash op for being entitled etc, is that somehow op's time being wasted is treated with no consequence. I bought a board for my Arduino from China that was supposed to have a micro SD card on it. It arrived and it didn't, and the seller didn't supply a return postage label.

I was expected to go to the post office, pay shipping for a return to China (which would have been super expensive), wait for them to get it, and then apply for a refund. A process that would have taken hours. So I threw the item in the bin and left negative feedback. I get paid to work, who would pay me to do this runaround? Would I not be essentially working for free to remedy an issue that another company had caused?

Also, how bad would the company have to be to accidentally send a used mouse Pad? There's not really an excuse for that. Op is allowed to have a taste for fancy mouse pads if he wants to.

Op is entitled… To the product he ordered and to not have his time wasted. As are you, and anybody really. eBay's return policy and customer service is really bad.

Used pad = Some scumbag returned a used mouse pad and mwave didn't check. Not far fetched. Has happened to me with other stores.

There's post offices everyehere. Not that much of an inconvenience to pop in at some point.

      • -3

There's a lot of assertions on your part that end up assuming that someone returned a used mouse pad. Surprisingly mwave does allow change of mind returns with a 15% restocking fee. In this case if their business accepts this then the onus is on them to check returns to make sure that they are new. This not happening is a failure with mwave…

Are there post offices everywhere? For you, maybe there are. For me, they are open business hours, 9-5 through the week. Coincidentally, that's the time I'm at work. So what do I do, do I take leave to go to the post office and post it back? Do I leave work early to action that request? Suddenly I'm taking annual leave for a bit of the afternoon to fix a mistake that a business caused.

The whole process, end to end, (getting into an internet argument with mwave via ebay, getting an rma assigned, taking leave to go to post office, posting back at own expense, trying to prove to mwave that you, infact, weren't the first person to use it and are returning it used) is bound to take more than 2 hours. If you get paid more than $20 an hour, throwing it in the bin and leaving negative feedback is actually the money savvy thing to do

        • +2

lol 'lot of assertions'?? I provided you with the most plausible explanation of why it happened. It's common. Call it an oversight or lack of QC. Mwave is not out there to intentionally deceive customers as they have nothing to gain. If one doesn't have the time to pop into a post office then they may need to reevaluate their lives. (Note: A LOT of them are also open on Saturdays)

      • There is a market for used pads.

  • I avoid eBay like the plough - to me it’s the flee market of the e-commerce world.

However, still better than gumtree the out of the back of a truck of the digital world.

Amazon is your Myer 99% over priced but some genuine good things to buy but generally not worth ur time if u find out before hand.

    Basically sums it all up.

    • +3

      I hate cultivation too.

      • +3

woman must be strong on plough

      • Lol. Good one

Seems like OP is just lazy to go somewhere and wants everything done to their front door.

What's the PC word in 2019 for calling someone "fat/lazy"?

    • +1

      entitled

  • +1

Someone need a nappy change, bottle and a nap I think.

    • -2

Sorry, I can't help you with that.

  • I think OP is expecting mwave to pay some bikies to pick it up from his place (directions to be drawn in mspaint) and then return it to them.

  • If you bought something from any store digital or brick and mortar, you'd have to take it back for a swap. They're not just going to take your word for it. They are coming to the table with a refund or swap. Stop being entitled and do it. What do you expect? Them to pay you for your time to go to the PO?

  • I wish there was a way for me to post those pics, so you could see how even a blind man could not miss the fact that it was used, before they sent it to me.

There are multiple ways to do that.
