Motorola Xoom wifi only (with free folio case) $415.49 shipped (ex. GST)

247

This is the wifi only version of the first Android Honeycomb tablet.
Considering stores like Telstra and JB Hi-Fi are selling the 3G/wifi versions for over $800, this is a steal!

If they can sell it for this price someone is making a serious profit on retail. Android Tabs are going to have to beat iPad by being substantially cheaper to break it's dominance, regardless of how good they are.

  • this deal sounds a little too good to be true. wonder whats the catch. by the way how much is shipping

  • +6

    $93 minimum shipping.

    • -3

Shipping is way to expensive. I had paid AU$25 for shipping for my Xoom from the states when it was first released.

      • +2

Where can I buy a wifi Xoom for less than AUD$415, shipped?

    • -1

That is completely and utterly ridiculous - what a RIP OFF!

The deal should be negged for that alone. Might as well make the phone free and charge $800 for delivery.

Pickup option is not offered, I wonder why? ROFL

The delivery cost should be in the TITLE !!!

      • +2

I agree. Put shipping in the title then see how many people click on the offer !

        • +2

Its probably not Australian stock (no Australian warranty)being shipped from overseas thats why the high shipping cost. Might as well cut the middle man and get it shipped directly from overseas.

        • +1

From where, maxixix? Can you show us all how to 'cut the middleman' and get it shipped directly from overseas for less than $415?

        • +2

          You mean the 415 + GST 10% I presume?

        • +1

There is no GST on imported items under $1000

  • yeah.. shipping kills the deal :(

  • +1

I thought these guys shut shop in Australia? Their support and office is now based in Hong Kong even though that is a Australian website.

for a second i was considering selling my Mytab =P

  • +4

wow, do they deliver it themselves by hand?

  • +1

Have updated the title to include shipping.

  • +7

$93 shipping? WTH? Probably its "clearance item" in year 2015, shipped through "time machine" and thats why shipping cost $93, which also justifies the cheap android xD.

  • +3

whilst the shipping does seem steep…… is the overall cost better than other retailers?

  • +5

the total price is still cheap! still the good deal!

  • When you go to checkout the total price Inc shipping comes to $415.49

    • thats cuz gst isnt included

      • +1

        are you gerry norman?

overall price is VERY GOOD. and GST is included for everything selling in Australia!

        • +2

no mate. pay attention. go to the page and have a look it says 354. Shipping is 93. 354 +93=447. The guy above mentioned that he seen the price was $415. instead of it being 447.

And i was just mentioning it was 415 cuz that didnt includ GST.

    • +4

If this is true then its still cheap with the expensive shipping. Mine shipped from US was about 600ish.

  • +1

    the shipping fee is outrageous!!!

  • Almost a hundred dollars for shipping??!?! WTF!!

I could ship 10 laptops for that much.

    • +4

Can you buy a wifi Xoom for less than $415 delivered?

  • +5

Why didn't they add $93 to price and call it free shipping? Would have made it look a better deal in many peoples eyes. $93 shipping just antagonizes customers, guess it's a tax dodge of sorts.

  • +1

    quote "NZD 786.86 (excl)" LOL.

  • +1

    Overall price is good. Undeniable.

  • +11

some of you can't seem to understand the concept of overall price. They could be selling it for $2 and charge $411 shipping fee

  • +4

Spent part of my weekend digging up prices and researching 3G models that would work in Aus. In the end I ruled it out and being an "overly expensive toy".

I just put my order in for this one however, justifying to myself as an "affordable gadget".

  • isn't this the same as http://www.expansys.com.au/motorola-xoom-32gb-wifi-218444/ ?

why is this one called motorola motorola zoom?

  • and this is the 32GB version. SO I say its a GOOD deal

  • +1

I take back my positive once I see the postage

  • +5

It's still incredibly cheap WITH shipping, but I guess you guys can't add.

  • +1

Is this ship from the moon?

    • +6

      no the sun.

  • +2

Change the title to the shipping included price, should get a better reception.

Its interesting to see the difference with yesterdays ipad deal. It wasn't a deal by any stretch of the imagination, even all the comments agreed, and yet not a single negative.

  • +6

As recommended, I updated the title to include shipping ex GST. Hope this pleases the naysayers.

I remember Acer A500 is something $403 last time?

    • Where can you find one at that price now?

    • That was 16GB, and it was only if you could get your OW to price match Harvey.

And, it's an Acer. With a locked bootloader.

    • I remember buying a Casio scientific calculator for $48.90. What's your point? #ApplesAndOranges

      • -2

It's like different brand of apple, ok?

    • LOL acer and motorola is like comparing Hyundai to Holden…

Motorola is the nexus tablet at the moment. Google uses it as the tablet they develop on.

      • Actually they gave out Galaxy Tabs at the last Google IO conference to all thier developers.

        • yea after the XOOM launched? lool just like how Samsung giving out Samsung Galaxy SII for all CM developers?

but Xoom was the tablet used to develop honeycomb. Giving Galaxy Tabs out is bidding the hope of developers make support to the devices. Doesnt make it the Nexus range for tablets

      • -2

Haha, the Nexus Tablet now is Galaxy Tab 10.1

  • +2

Haha, it's no longer listed. Too many ozbargain'ers?

  • +1

    All gone?

  • +2

    ozbargained hahaha

  • +1

    It said 1-5 before =P

    • +1

Yes when I viewed the deal 2 hours ago it said stock levels 1-5. Hardly call that ozbargained.

  • +8

People that are negging this are tards.

The total price is still around $200 cheaper then anywhere in the states. How can you think that this is not a bargain?

  • I guess they meant product is a bargain price, shipping is not. People are negging the shipping price, not the product. (shrugs shoulders).

  • +1

    broadened

  • +1

Those negging this deal would neg a deal offering a new Playstation 3 for $1 and $200 shipping? Ridiculous to neg a deal when the total price substantially beats any other price out there, no matter how much the shipping charge.

    • -1

The negs are for the way that the deal was PRESENTED.

It looked misleading… same as a Playstaion 3 advertised for $1… and you had to open the website AND add the item to your shopping cart AND then open checkout and add your location, only to find that the shipping was $200.

What happens is that people click the link based on the "posted deal". It artificially increases click-through rates if a deal is falsified here.

That is what happened here. The policy is that shipping charges go in title.

      • +4

The negs are for the way that the deal was PRESENTED.

Should really have been a 'report' then ….

always REPORT listing violations to moderators by using the REPORT function,

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

      • The way the deal was presented? I saw the deal as "Xoom 32GB wifi for $415 delivered". That is a bargain.

  • $750 now..

    • +3

But what about shipping? According to some, if its free shipping etc then $750 is a bargain.

      • If you're referring to my earlier post then I said $450 with free post went down easier than $354 + $93 postage.

$750 and free post is idiotic.

  • +2

in the end… the people bought this tablet and saved around $200 are smart! :)

  • How does it compare to the HTC Flyer?
    Edit: http://www.knowyourmobile.com/comparisons/772532/motorola_xo…

I heard it blows Ipad 2 out of the water!

  • Those of you that are negging on this deal obviously didn't score the deal in time- HA! I can't believe you neg heads out there. Can you not add up? Who care's about the postage price - add up the total cost and it's ALL WIN. SCORE. Paid with Paypal all good.
