      lol?

      • +14

There were 15 words in the description at the time of posting

  • +31

Oh yay, I can't wait to see what does and doesn't work… these eligible item sales are beyond annoying.

    • +4

The crazy thing now is that eBay advises that they are tracking what codes people test on items listed. If they were clearer about what the discount applies to then we wouldn’t waste so much time testing codes.

It is stupid. I buy a lot of items overseas and for no rhyme or reason can they tell me why it works on some items and not others when they are the same or similar goods in the same country and the same currency. It works for seller A but not seller B, but seller A may be more expensive than seller B, but seller B can’t get the discount. Both A and B are the same level eg top rated seller etc etc.

    • +21

It'd probably help if they did something about the categories sellers are using (same goes with Amazon). I could search for "Nintendo Switch Games" in an effort to look for physical games for the switch and then have to skip 50 pages of tiny Switch accessories. Mate, your 50 cent joycon thumbgrip is not a switch game. Pet peeve of mine!

      • +1

Agree but they won't as their often paying additional fees to list in multiple categories….

      • +10

The worst one is when they use the multiple items in one listing feature and one of the items is a $1 screen protector and the it item you want is $100.

        • +2

Yeah that one too! What other OzBargainer doesn't get caught out by that when sorting by lowest to highest?!

          • +1

@aragornelessar: I hate those sellers. So i check every single frickin link until i know I've got the cheapest

  • -5

Search link for Plus items here:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/home

    • +4

That just shows which items have free Plus shipping.

      They don't all have a 15 / 20% discount.

  • any decent macbook deals?

or should i be waiting for the new keyboard?

  • +4

Haha that selection of "laptops and computers" is laughable. It seems to be a limited subset of just sydneytec?

    • +3

Yeah, only 2 components in whole list. Also they've already jacked via the other 20% non-eBay+ deal that is on.

  • +3

    price already been jacked

    • +12

      say it again

      • +7

        Username already done it

I'm sure late model iPhone box sealed buyers aren't going to get any joy .

  • Ipad Air 2019 64 gb wifi for $662. Is that the best we can get anywhere? Thanks

  • +7

Craptacular bargains to be had here

    Typical eBay pricejacking garbage

    And the crowd goes mild

I find the interest-free option of paying an apple product in 18 monthly instalments better than a 20% discount but paying upfront

    • Wut?

      • +1

I find the interest-free option of paying an apple product in 18 monthly instalments better than a 20% discount but paying upfront

      • -3

you know how if you buy from apple you can choose to pay it off on 18 months rather than paying upfront?

        • Dude interest free purchases save you cost of living interest, not 20%. It's like 5% max.

    • why?

      • -2

because getting 2k out of pocket now isn't as good as getting $111 every month for 18 months… Like feels less financially crippling if you know what I mean

        • +9

May be appear less crippling, but it's a worse financial decision. Anyways, you really shouldn't be spending 2k on an iPhone if you can't pay for it outright imo…

          • -5

@18: not really a worse financial decision cause:
            1) value of money decreases over time so if we calculate an annuity of $111 per month for 18 months @inflation rate of 2% it'll be equal to $1940 rather than 2000 in 18 months.

            2) the money that I won't be paying upfront can be used in other investments etc

so in the end yes, it'll not be exactly equal but it's really close yet less financial burden upfront

            • @barozgain: why am I getting negged?

              • +1

@barozgain: Because people don't support your view.

(didn't neg, but i can see why).

                • @Ulysses31: ohh well these aren't just my views… This is what I was taught when I did finance unit at uni

                  • +1

@barozgain: Shooting the messenger is a popular sport here. So are practical demonstrations of Dunning-Kruger.

            • +3

@barozgain: Except you're paying $111 a month, not $2,000 at the end, so it'll be equal to closer to $1,970. Plus you need to subtract that from your other investments etc.

Let's say you have $2,000. You invest it at a magical 10% return. You pay off the phone at $111 per month and keep earning. You have $176 at the end.

Alternatively, you buy the iPhone for $1,700. You have $300 left over right now and a lot less faffing around (and $348 if you invest it at the same magical 10%). It's hard to beat a 15% upfront saving.

        • We have enough savings.

    • +2

I find waiting for half a year after release for the model to depreciate 1/3 of its value and buying it from eBay 20% off with its already 10-15% off egift card is the best option.

  • Thought it was listed items but from all sellers :(

  • +2

    75 ozbargainers work at ebay

    • 84

      • I thought 55 as name suggested.

  • +2

( BIG YAWN over the deals ). Thanks for the comments as actually are more Interesting than the deals .

  • +1

These deals are like an emotional roller coaster!
I get excited when I see 20% off cameras (cause I'm looking to buy a new one).. then get disappointed when I only see one store with the discount.

Need to sit down and have some Valium methinks

    🤣😭🤣😭🤦‍♂️

  • +7

If Ebay really insist on making this complex certain sellers, certain items coupons they really need to make a simple search mechanism.
Even the current POLAR20 code is only really usable thanks to the links on OzBargain.

  • +1

Sub par inflated deals yet the eBay bots are in full upvoting swing!

  • Very disappointing laptop deals.

  • +4

Rubbish sale. So many items jacked in the mobile section…

  • I don't know whether to vote for the Op's effort or to down vote to make it clear to EBay that this is a useless promotion…

  • So many complaints… personally I think this is one of the better discount codes because it goes up to $1,000 off, and TVs are included. You can get the LG 65" C9 Oled for $1000 less than everyone else is selling it for. The price was not jacked.

  • Ipad Air 2019 64 gb wifi for $662. Is that a good price?

  • Pretty good deal on Lenovo

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-X1-Yoga-G2-20JEA00AAU-Int…

1 TB SSD, and max specs and Special screen

    For $2k.

I'm waiting for Gen 4 so i wont buy

    • This uses the POLAR20 code, which ends 14 July, not the PINENUT code of this deal.

Should have been posted there instead 😉

      (Same 20% discount, though.)

  • Got iPhone in previous deal (10% Off) about a week back. XS MAX 512 GB for $1781.10. That was pretty amazing.
Tried posting that as a deal but OzB wdn’t let me do. The seller here is blocked for sock-Puppetting.
Looking for prices a week back vs now, clearly a mark up has happened now.

  • +9

I honestly don't think these "eligible items" ebay deals are acceptable.
It's like if coles or woolies did a "15-20% OFF SALE!!!!" but there are no discounted prices shown througout the store and you only find out if the items you chose are on sale when you get to the checkout and say the magic word - it's bullshit and no other stores that are posted on ozbargain do it.

  • Anyone help me with iPad 9.7" case and covers please? thanks

  • Looking to buy an Oppo as a cheap phone for my old man, can anyone shed some light on the models and what to look for. Budget $2-300 but happy to pay a bit more for a better model. The r11s comes down to $334 which seems to be the cheapest after a Google search. Obviously happy to pay the least amount also if it means not too much difference between their $2-500 phones.

I'm otherwise open to other phones if anyone has experience in the lower end of the market.

He'll mainly take a few calls and browse some YouTube/Facebook, decent camera would be good as he loves to take some snaps, other uses he'll just be tethering to the ipad I donated to him.

The NBN cut over disconnected their landline and my folks don't really need the data (mum has her own mobile plan) so they haven't bothered signing up to anything new.

  • Can someone who has ebay plus check these links for me? The images says 15% off with PISTACHIO but it isn't a Apple or a Mobile.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-AORUS-7-17-3in-FHD-144H…
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-AORUS-7-17-3in-FHD-144H…

I don't want to waste a free trial only for these to be listed wrong. Thank you :)
